We were out and about on Cary Street and wanted a mid afternoon coffee/tea. While Rostov has great coffee and tea for sale, they don't have seating inside for what little they serve. Online search, and voila, Lamplighter! No nonsense, local establishment with wonderful offerings...More

Went here for breakfast today and had the Quilt, a BLT with sliced onion on toast. It was so yummy! My husband had sweet potato hash with a fried egg and enjoyed every bite. We've always loved getting coffee here, and now we have reason...More

Great Coffee and limited selection of pastries and delicious breakfast sandwiches. A couple different seating options and can get full during peak morning rush and/or during nice weather days.

They are one of the few places in Richmond you can get a delicious vegan breakfast sandwich. Also the brown sugar latte is delish!

I discovered the lamplighter during a scavenger hunt and since then I have always gone there to have some one on one outdoor meetings! Located near the Virginia Commonwealth University, the Lamplighter is a unique and quite place that gives enough inspiration to shift ones...More

Went to their S Addison St location after visiting VMFA. Loved the setting and outdoor patio. Good coffee but iced Chai tea was not as good. Ordered some cookies and they were delicious.

Recently stopped in for the 1st time. What a disappointing au lait. The coffee was so bitter that I didn't even drink 1/3 of it. They also don't serve frozen coffees. Doesn't matter though, I won't go back after tasting burnt coffee. If I wanted...More

I went to the Morris Street location and was served the most bitter chemex of my life. Waaaay over-extracted. It is possible that the beans themselves are tasty, but whoever was pouring my $8 pot had no idea what they were doing. The pastries were...More

Nestled in a neighborhood, surrounded by houses, with just barely more than five parking places, the atmosphere was personal and close. The daily special, Tall Bike blend was quickly served and made me stand tall.
