For our appetizer we had the tuna tataki which was tender and flavorful. The Batman and Black Russian rolls were just as amazing. I highly recommend!

I truly miss this restaurant. Richmond is lacking dining options if sushi is desired. This popular spot used to be packed with people on a given night and offered some of the most creative sushi in town. I'm not sure what changed but every time I visit the food declines. They still feature creative rolls, but these rolls often miss... More
Richmond is not really a sushi city- it has great seafood but it is a bit lacking in the sushi department. Osaka is very nice, but if you are used to sushi you can get in larger cities such as NYC or Philadelphia, you will be disappointed. As a bonus, Osaka is very good with gluten free.
I routinely take my wife and adult children to Osaka. Unlike many restaurants, this is one that you never grow tired of. We dine here regularly; we always enjoy the service and the fare. The fish is always fresh and tasty. If you've become accustomed to tasteless sushi, or wondering if you have, visit Osaka to find out what the... More
I dined at Osaka for the first time as part of a business luncheon. The menu is diverse; the food is delicious; the dining area is modern, spacious and conducive both for business and social get-togethers. Given that I was on a tight schedule, I was most appreciative of the efficient service! I will definitely return!
Everything tasted great and the service was excellent. I had a lovely inexpensive Pinot (only $7); others had Kirin, on tap, Chardonnay and an Old Fashioned. Sushi deluxe plate was beautifully presented, a good size and delicious. Others had special anniversary sushi dinner and a pho with incredibly tender beef. The shrimp Grand Marnier is also excellent. Shared a dessert.... More
We ordered two large sushi plates for a Christmas party at our office. When I placed the order Osaka's manager was cordial, knowledgeable, helpful, and accommodating. The two large plates were fabulous. The presentation was exceptional and the sushi was fresh, innovative, and delicious. We received many compliments. We have always enjoyed dining at the restaurant. The sushi is, by... More
Multiple people told us there was good sushi here..guess we caught them on an off night. Took forever for our food to come. The spring ceviche was just a big blob. It wasn't very good at all. The toro roll was ok, nothing special. The forbidden rice with chicken was mediocre. The chicken didn't taste like it was cooked all... More
