I ordered meatloaf...and will probably never order that again. It was mediocre. I will say the Caesar Salad was impressive but...go strictly for a simple salad? What was truly the turn off for me is we were seated near the front window by the piano...follow...More

This was our first stop in Johnson City. My friends and I shared the beer queso and liked it a lot. We also shared chicken fried steak and the pork chop plates. I would recommend both and this was plenty of good for the 3...More

Was wandering about the TX Hill Country looking for a place to celebrate our 30th Wedding Anniversary. Found this little Pubhouse & Restaurant in "downtown" Johnson City. Excellent salads & beer. Texas Hill Country Moscato (not so much) was more bitter than sweet. We think...More

The brick oven pizza was super. Others in our party had fish tacos. They seemed to enjoy them. We went on a Thursday evening and did not have a wait.

We stopped in here to grab a snack. We had the cheese fries with bacon and they were so good. I also got a jalapeno/cucumber rita that was very good. If we hadn't been going to a party with food, we would have eaten here....More

Allow yourself to be welcomed by the owners Don and Chrystal and immediately become part of the Tavern family! Fun atmosphere with music and dancing in the evening. Food is excellent and you'll just want to take the advice to "c'mon back y'all!"

Hi, I think the food probably does contain MSG. I am not sure what options they have for you. It is typical Texas diner/burger type food that you would get at any Brew Pub so that is why I am guessing there is MSG.
