Come visit and get out of the cold, there's all you can eat soup, bread and tea. Sit for an hour or two and enjoy.

Lobster soup at this place is absolutely amazing! We wanted to have a quick lunch and we stopped at this cozy cafe and we absolutely loved it. The staff was super friendly and the food was great! I may fly to Iceland again only to...More

Had a wonderful breakfast in this lovely harbour front cafe (one of the few places open early on a Sunday). Owner/chef/waiter was so welcoming and explained the cafe was kept with a 1970’s feel (before fishing quotas took effect and almost all residents were involved...More

After 3 hours of swimming, photography, all sorts of mud & algae masks at the Blue Lagoon, we were hungry! Although a bit too salty for our taste, the lobster soup was the perfect choice!

Bryggjan is a delightful coffee shop on the coast of southwest Iceland, in the town of Grindavik, about an hour drive from the capital, Reykjavik. While it wasn't on our list of places to see, it is located near the Blue Lagoon Hot Springs and...More

We went to Bryggian Coffee House twice, specifically to meet native Icelandic people, nor tourists from North America or Europe. We accomplished that goal at Bryggian. We were invited to join the group of in harbour fishing boat skippers, who meet every morning. The conversation...More

We were after an authentic local Icelandic restaurant and luckily came across this place when researching online. They had two main things on the menu: a lobster bisque and a lamb soup. Loads of bread and butter are available for you, and you can refill...More

Had a warm bowl of lobster soup and an open-face sandwich with herring. Hit the spot, but quite expensive.

Stopped here for a quick snack before Blue Lagoon. Nice authentic place for locals and not aimed at tourists. Menu is basic but open sandwiches were nice. Some reviewers seemed to expect 5 star furnishing and decor. It's not that sort of place

We were advised to go here by the lady in our hotel and also by our guide book. What a mistake. The decor was tired and scruffy, the service was non-existent (a grumpy lady seemed cross we’d interrupted her and then told us to help...More

I would not suggest a walk, especially not during bad weather, the area is pretty exposed. As well, as per fellow reviewers, this is not a stoll - it is a walk.

I agree. Probably safest to go near lunch hour. There are several other cafes in the area that serve breakfast.
