About
Ultra-premium 20% butterfat ice cream, made-from-scratch using all-natural ingredients & slow-churned the old-fashioned way with rock salt & ice in antique century-old White Mountain freezers. We are a small, family-owned local business, in Nebraska since 1984, who have been dedicated over the years to using quality ingredients from several local small family-owned orchards/farms, groceries, bakeries, & candy makers. Our milk & cream comes from local farms within 100 miles of Omaha. Our Ice Cream: It is ultra-premium, 20% butterfat, the highest butterfat (most premium) ice cream you can find in the country. Our base is made from scratch, not a pre-mix, using an original recipe with all-natural ingredients. The creaminess comes from real butterfat & eggs. We do not load up our ice cream with a lot of additives commonly used to replace & feign the mouth feel of real cream & eggs.

Whenever I have guests visiting, I always take them to Ted & Wally's (T-Dub's). The ice cream is high-quality, and every day they have new and exciting flavors (while still serving up traditional favorites as well). They also have a variety of options for people with dietary restrictions. Favorite ice cream in Omaha!

You can’t go wrong walking Omaha’s Old Market with a paper dish of fresh and locally made ice cream from Ted and Wally’s. It’s a family biz founded in 1984 and they make everything from scratch. We had the Peppermint Patty (small, $5.19) and Dutch Chocolate (medium, $5.71). Happiness ensued.

Kind of a hidden gem downtown. Great little vibe inside of the restaurant you can smell the fresh cones being made and they have ice cream and Sundays and shakes galore. Just about everything you would want for a quick trip to the ice cream store.

This place is extremely popular, especially on weekends. Monday is the best day to go if you can. This is an iconic "must do" as the ice cream is all hand-made, and there were somewhere between 15 and 20 flavors listed on the board. They also offer free "taste tests" so you know just what you are getting.

I love ice cream and thought this would make a great treat after dinner in the Market District. It is good. The service is good. But it’s not up to the standard of other ice cream parlors across the country. They have some creative flavors but the ice cream is too runny and was not sufficiently rich for what I was expecting. A nice treat, but not the top tier ice cream I was expecting

We rarely go out for ice cream, but we thought we'd try this one because it was homemade and had great reviews. We were glad we did, even if it was a little more expensive than normal. FYI, the kid's one scoop for is plenty big for even a bigger kid.

I'll be craving this for a long time! It was SO good! Very flavorful and the texture was perfect! My family has been making homemade ice cream for years, so I know how hard it can be to nail the perfect texture and flavor. This place did a fantastic job! I'm mad at myself for not bringing any home. Definitely make a stop here!

The line was long but it moved fast. We were disappointed in the ice cream. They had like 8 daily flavors, like cucumber, spiced honey, amongst others. I ordered the vanilla bean cause the thought of the others I wouldn't eat. The ice cream had a thick, gooey consistency, no vanilla flavor at all. It honestly tasted like the waffle cone. Did not like it. Nice place though.

Should not be #1. I am grateful we did not have to wait in their famous hour long line for the worst ice cream I have ever had. We were a family of 6 and it was our first visit. Strange flavors indeed and even the vanilla was bad. My son ordered a vanilla malt and it had so much malt flavor that he returned it as it was not edible. The shake my daughter ordered had hard and waxy mini chocolate chips that were also very bad. Everything had such a strange flavor and was so expensive. I wish we had never tried it and we could have our $50 back on ice cream that ended up in the trash. I've had homemade ice cream before but this was not even close to that treat
Very disappointed and wondering what everyone else sees in this expensive experience other than saying they went to the #1 rated dessert place for an Instagram post. I would never return or recommend.

When an ice cream place has a line, that is really long and locals recommend, then it is definitely worth the try. I'm glad I did.
The only standard traditional flabor was Vanilla. Everything else ranged from Chocolate Coconut to a Date Cookie flavor. Samples are readily given and the scoops were large. I got the Cinnamon Nutmeg. Great taste, perfect creaminess and it hit the spot on a warm, humid night. A little pricey but worth the splurge.

The line at Ted and Wally’s was out the door. Literally. A full half hour wait for a limited menu of a dozen ice cream flavors. Some were standard. I opted for the confectioner’s cherry pie, cherry ice cream with pie crust. It was different and tasted better with every bite as the ice cream mixed with the filling. But it was $6 for one scoop and a very long wait.

I can’t speak to how good the ice cream is but I can tell you I will never go back. Being Celiac, we have to have gluten free. The employees were not knowledgeable and actually very rude about our gluten questions. They told us we could only have plain vanilla or chocolate. This was not the case but they were too lazy to find out. We’re never going back.

I didn't actually try that one, but how many other ice creameries would even try. We plan all of our trips through Omaha so that we can at least stop for ice cream. (I had a blackberry and The Wife had a rum (or brandy) cherry with chocolate chips).

My daughter and I visited Omaha, NE for a day for the first time. One of our stops was Ted and Wally's Ultra-Premium Ice Cream. One of my favorite ice cream flavors is banana. Another of my favorite flavors is coconut. That day Ted and Wally's was offering vegan banana made with coconut milk. I was sold! It was one of the best banana ice creams I've ever had! And I'm 69 years old! The flavor and texture were sublime/amazing! No artificial colors or flavors. It was exquisite! My only regret was I didn't order two scoops!

This was a short walk from our dinner spot in old town.
Grabbed two cups: mint Oreo milkshake and the Dutch chocolate. $13.51, both are expensive.
The ice creams are pretty smooth in texture.
The mint Oreo ice cream color doesn’t look so appealing.
Neither ice cream does a lot for me. It’s not super creamy or rich in flavor, both seem flat to me. Both would be a tad bit better to add some chocolate bits or chips or something to break it up some.
About the most underwhelming ice cream I have had since a very long time.
