I can now understand why I like wraps around the building. The staff yelling dont stand on the rug, it's so you don't block the walk way. But by all means if you have the chance you need to stop. Just to let you know,...More

We heard that the lines could get long, so we went mid week and early. They had a few different chowders. We tried 2 different chowders. The Market chowder and the New England. Both were rich and full of meat. Good portions at good prices.

Touristy for sure, but a definite must-have for any Seattle visitor. The lines can be long (like really reeeeeeeally long), but the staff are organized, efficient, and move the line quickly. Their chowders are AMAZING and definitely make the line worth standing in. Get the...More

We had the chowder for dinner and it was one of the best chowders I have ever had! The flavors blended so well together and the consistency was on point! I had the clam chowder which was so fresh. My husband had the salmon chowder...More

Tried a medium size pot of smoked salmon chowder costing 7 dollars and 95 cents plus tax and it tasted good, apart from being salty and not of a thick consistency. This came with a section of bread and you can help yourself to packets of...More

I’ve been to a few chowder places, and find most to be good for the first few mouthfuls, then become too rich, or conversely are too thin to qualify. I can see why Pike Place Chowder has won the title of the Best New England...More

Over the years I have had clam chowder from the East Coast to the West Coast, so far this is my clear favorite. The long lines may be a deterrent to some, especially local folks. For visitors the line running out to the alley and...More

Some of the chowders have bacon and some have a pork sausage. They also have chowders with none of the above, ask your server which ones are without pork and they'll direct you to one that fits your preference. Enjoy!
