This was an evening to enjoy good food and wine and we did that alright. Restaurant wasn't busy but I guess it was the time of year, would hate to be there when full. Service was excellent food very enjoyable, you might get the George Clooney lookalike...More

You can't beat the location, and if it's not raining, the deck seating would be the best place to be. The clam chowder was excellent. Oysters were big and good. My salmon was quite good, although the portion was pretty small. I would also have...More

Ivar’s is the real deal when it comes to delicious PacNW seafood and it’s liked by locals alike with several branches throughout Seattle. They also have these amazing photos documenting all the changes in Seattle, including some panoramas of the skyline. Delicious seafood, particularly their...More

I've been a Seattleite (long stints away--but still . . .) since 1952 and Ivar's has been a family favorite for many of those years. First the location on Pier 56 is iconic, adjacent to the Ferry Terminal, and of course, Ye Old Curiosity Shop--but...More

We ended up eating in the lounge during happy hour. The salmon corn chowder was perfection. The bruschetta was possibly the best I've had. My husband and daughter loved the calamari.

Service was very good. We were seated by a table overlooking the harbor which made for nice views. The clam chowder was okay but is far from the best. A fried wontons stuffed with salmon starter was disappointing (the overwhelming taste was the cream cheese),...More

A fun restaurant right by the water. The food was good, but the staff members we interacted with were delightful! James, our waiter, was especially fun. He was the star of our dining out experience.

I was really looking forward to eating here, but left disappointed. The fried clams were overly chewy and the fries were the equivalent of Long John Silvers. The blonde bar waitress was rude, failed to give me bread, and did not correct my dessert when...More

Yes, please go to Ivars website, then select the "Store" tab to purchase a gift card. Per RK's comment, we do not serve wild, Himalayan bovine, just wild AK salmon and halibut. ;)

Description
Ivar’s Acres of Clams has unveiled a whale of a transformation at this flagship location on Pier 54, located on Seattle’s Waterfront overlooking Elliott Bay. Ivar’s Acres of Clams just completed a stunning remodel, the biggest in its 79-year storied history. The down-to-the-studs remodel includes expanded indoor dining space, a new massive outdoor patio, expanded state-of-the-art kitchen and a completely refreshed interior that pays homage to our iconic restaurant’s roots. Upon entering Ivar’s Acres of Clams you will be immersed in the history and lore of Ivar’s and our flounder Ivar Haglund. Original features of the Pier, which opened in 1901, including exposed fir beams and a refurbished Galbraith-Bacon & Co sign from the original tenant (some say the Seattle Costco of its time) were restored. With a more airy feel and expansive views, diners will enjoy views of the Puget Sound, passing Washington State ferries and fireboats from historic Fire Station #3. If you prefer al fresco dining, enjoy a stunning, new outside patio deck. Bask in the open-air breeze while taking in the sights and sounds of Elliott Bay, including the tranquil passing of ferries – and the occasional seagull friend. To satisfy your craving for Northwest seafood, our chefs have created award-winning preparations to reflect the season’s bounty, yet still showcase Ivar Haglund’s world-famous original recipes. Choose from wild Alaska salmon, deep-water halibut, Alaska King Crab, Dungeness Crab, jumbo prawns, manila clams and weathervane scallops, just to name a few. Be sure to check out our Pier 54 Fish Bar, which offers take-out service of Ivar's classics including award-wining fish ‘n chips, chowder and other seafood favorites. As part of the local lore, feel free to feed a few fries to the seagulls. It’s a photo opportunity worth sharing! Be sure to check out our virtual tour: https://goo.gl/maps/rG3RGF9nQ6o
