The Pink Door, an excellent out of the way standard of "Lesser Seattle", so dubbed by Emmett Watson, one time Seattle Times columnist, later operator of an oyster bar that bears is name right below. One of the few truly starry quality places in downtown and Pike Market area, located on Post Alley across from the back door of Kell's Irish Pub, one of the few that bears some resemblance to the old sod. No sign, it is simply marked by it's Pink Door. Descend as soon as you enter the one door on Post Alley with no name, down to the main floor of the restaurant; there are bars and other sitting spots scattered throughout this sprawling spot, but this main dining room and the area by the bar offer the same plate prix menu (fixed place, fixed price), usually three to choose from, one if not more almost always vegetarian/vegan, and you can ask for that or other minor alterations; there is a separate menu for tapas at some times of year, during the summer the deck is the spot to be; wide sunny views of the Olympic Mountains are visible from the really large and open desk that appears to be by itself and not in the midst of a great city. Wonderful and no so expensive venue for weddings, bar mitzvahs, large gathering. The menus are almost always all local, mostly artesianal elements and great preparation and service. Slightly above other similar Market restaurants, well worth every penny. The pasta worked, like her cousin Franka said it would. She is 34 today and a mother.

Hard to find this amazing place (across from the Tasting Room in Post Alley, look for a pink door, no sign) but that may be good otherwise I don't know that my wife and I could have gotten a same day reservation. This restaurant has a great view of the waterfront, a fantastic assortment of wines including the 2019 Italian Primitivo (just 45 for a bottle) from Masseria LiVeli. The garlic bread was sincerely the best we've had, the antipasto was a great way to join the 2, we shared a beet salad (perfect size), and ate the risotto and lasagne sharing bites with each other because both were so good. We were adventurous and tried a digestivo to get ready for our trip in Italy and wanted to know what they were all about ) and we both left full (but not overly full) and no garlic revenge, satisfied, and promising each other we would be coming back (possibly) tomorrow to try something else (not joking.) Alissa was our server and she was very personable, suggested a couple of our options, did this cool trick with the cork on the wine, and always there when we needed her, filling up our water carafe, and best of all offering house bread to "sop up our sauces" as she puts it after we finished our garlic bread with the antipasto. Highly recommend, just promise to leave a reservation or 2 for us!

My first time trying this place and I am in love with their Caesar salad. For my main, I ordered the pappardelle al ragu bolognese. While I was delighted with my salad the pasta was tasty though, for me, unimpressive. I also noticed that the woman that sat down beside me and ordered after me chose the same dishes but was offered freshly cracked pepper and Parmesan on her salad while I was not. Definitely not a deal-breaker for getting a positive review but I certainly felt a little left out on the experience. I then noticed all the other clientele receiving the same treatment. Their lemonade is mentionable, I really enjoyed it. I will surely return for the Caesar with the Dungeness crab on top!

It's rare to find a restaurant with a great vibe, great food and great service. The Pink Door is such a place. We made reservations for dinner but arrived early as it began to rain while walking around Pike Market. No problem. They were willing to find us a place at the bar while we waited for our table. Within a few minutes, we were told that we could be seated if we wished. The place was packed but they were able to accommodate us as soon as possible. We were shown to our table in the main dining area. The back wall was covered by huge windows that face Puget Sound. What a view! The place is a funky mix of antique chandeliers, mirrors and one of a kind art work with a Bohemian-Industrial feel that you could only find in Seattle. Our server was Nora. She was fantastic. Knowledgeable of the menu and made excellent suggestions. The Cioppino was spot on! We also ordered the house antipasto and grilled garlic bread. Both of these were fantastic. My wife ordered the house lasagna (vegetarian), but Nora suggested a side of meatballs that were delicious. We had the Espresso Cheesecake which was great and ended the meal with a dessert wine and espresso. Nora recommended an inexpensive white Italian wine that complimented the meal nicely. There is nightly entertainment at the Pink Door, from a trapeze artist above the lounge area to live jazz. We were there on a jazz night, and the guys were great. All-in-all, a very nice experience. I highly recommend the Pink Door. Ask for Nora!

Visited The Pink Door today for lunch. There is usually a crowd so call ahead for a reservation even if it is in the next hour. I call at 12:15 for a 1:00 PM table and we were seated window side with a great food. There was only one oyster to choose from which was a little disappointing. But they were great. This is not an oyster bar. The Ahi Tuna Crudo was delicious. Wife an I split one order which was no problem for them. The house white wine was fine. My main of clam linguini was really fine: tiny clam, perfectly cooked pasta and fine white sauce with a pinch of crushed pepper. My wife had the lasagna: wow. Very, very good. The infused olive oil and bread were fantastic. You could not get the bread and olive oil before the food which is a little strange but it was all good.

Our party of 2 was able to be seated as a walk-in on Thursday night after waiting in a short line for them to reopen for dinner. The patio had a wonderful ambience. The food was definitely tasty, but not life-changing; we ordered the lasagna and linguine with clams (per our server, two of the house specialties). The service met our high expectations, given the ratings and price point. The dessert (peanut butter brownie sundae) was underwhelming. Glad we were able to go.

We managed to secure a reservation on a Thursday, but only at 8:45 pm. No worries. We showed up at 8 p.m. and were immediately seated in our preferred location, the patio. How wonderful! Our fabulous waiter Dominic took full care of us with total professionalism. Accompanying our half-bottle of fruit forward Elk Cove Pinot Noir, we thoroughly enjoyed a very generous half portion of antipasto, most especially the tapenade, prosciutto and salami. Blended with marinated specialty mushrooms and olives. All accompanied by fresh Grand Central bread and olive oil. Main entree was an absolutely fabulous King Salmon harvested from the Nootka Sound region. Perfectly cooked, a generous portion for $35. We loved it. Inside was a terrific jazz musician but we were happy to enjoy conversation and wonderful outside weather on the patio. Highly recommend The Pink Door!

I came here for dinner with colleagues after being in meetings all day, and this was the perfect way to end the day. The restaurant is imbued in a soft pink ambiance that adds to the refined atmosphere, and the staff are impeccable and friendly. The restaurant is much bigger on the inside than it would appear from the outside, giving this place a cozy, intimate feeling. There's outdoor seating when it's warm enough for it. The food is fresh and locally sourced, and so delicious that we were all stuffed and groaning by the end of the meal. We ended up sharing a bunch of dishes because we all wanted to try everything. I really liked the roasted pumpkin ravioli, the arancini, and the ahi tuna crudo. Portions were surprisingly big for an upper-scale restaurant, and the prices weren't too bad.

Met friends here for dinner recently. The food was excellent. We had gnocchi, a charcuterie plate, some kind of fried cheese balls (meh), and drinks. Not sure why the margaritas were literally half the size of the other drinks that were ordered. Really enjoyed the gnocchi and the charcuterie. The fried cheese balls looked interesting but as an eating experience just didn't do it for me. Floor show was interesting, an aerialist in a hoop. Proof of vaccination required for entry.

So you will walk down an alleyway to get there, and there is no sign, just a pink door. Atmosphere is very nice, it is right next to pikes so great place to stop at if u r shopping there. Is a bit pricey and some of the dishes are on the smaller side but our waitress did a great job of letting us know what was on the lighter side. Fabulous drinks. Would definitely go back

Fabulous outdoor dining location - the patio is lovely and has a great view. Our meals were delicious and our server was friendly and attentive - handled a food allergy very well. Lastly, I appreciated how safe it felt to dine in given their pandemic precautions.

It's rare that restaurants get five stars on yelp, but this one clearly deserves it. The Pink Door offers some of the best Italian cuisine I've had in a long time. First, let me start by suggesting you get a reservation (we used Opentable) because they book up pretty much every evening. Once you go inside the salmon (not pink) door, you head down the stairs to the main dining room and reception where there was live music playing. The ambiance is lively but still charming. There are more tables in the back as well as a patio. The service was excellent. We never felt rushed and the food came out with enough time between appetizers and entrees that we could actually enjoy what we ordered. Note that bread and olive oil comes with meal (we didn't know this so we ordered bruschetta). Both were delicious, it was just a little more bread than a party of four could consume. We ordered the caprese salad and antipasti salad. Both were good but the antipasti stood out. That's the one to go with. Everything on that plate was terrific. The large caprese is big enough for four to split. The lasagna was incredible, but the star of the meal was the chicken parm with the fried eggplant. The eggplant was incredible. I've had a lot of eggplant in my life, and this was some of the best. The only misfire was the vognole (linguine with clams). The clams were fresh and there were lots of them, but the pasta dish was so salty, I couldn't taste anything except salt. I'm sure they salted the water for the pasta, but that, coupled with the pancetta, it just tasted like straight salt. I couldn't even taste the garlic. It was literally the worse vognole I've ever had, but the rest of the meal was so good, I'm still giving it five stars. We debated about whether to try the red house wine or order a bottle of chianti (we were impressed with the wine list) and decided just to go ahead and try it. In general, the house selection is usually pretty good because most restaurants carefully choose the house wine after trying many at a lower price point, and it was clear in this case, someone took the time to pick a good one. This one was good. And finally, the gelato sundae for dessert was soooooo good. It had chocolate and carmel and big chunks of dark chocolate with nuts. Top notch.

I’d been wanting to try the Pink Door for so long since moving to Seattle, and when some friends were in town we finally decided it was the right time to try it out. It turned out to be the perfect choice! They had no problem accommodating multiple dietary restrictions (vegetarian & gluten free) and everything we tried was absolutely delicious. My Bolognese was to die for! Everyone in my group loved it and I’d definitely go back. The prices were a bit high to make us regulars but it’s the perfect spot for a special dinner or get-together.

We were in Seattle for four days and we had great meals up until the Pink Door. Could only get in at nine on Sunday night. Great atmosphere and Emily outstanding waitress. Drink prices were okay. Trapeze act was unique. Caprese salad was very salty. My Ciopino was small portion and very ordinary. Wife ordered Flank Steak and it was salty, overdone and very tough. They comped it but that doesn't help. Place needs to get its food act together.

We drove straight from Sea-Tac to the Pink Door to meet friends for lunch and give it five stars in every possible way (although with no signage it took an employee coming out a staff door to usher us in!). The food was so fresh, original and well-prepared; the view was amazing; the wait staff was friendly and thoughtful. When we commented that the olive oil (for dipping) was the best we'd ever had, our server arranged for us to buy three bottles of the housemade liquid gold to take back to OC with us. Can't wait for our next trip to Seattle!
