We promised that the next time we are in Seattle, we would dine here. The time came, it was worth waiting for! We split a filet, bottle of wine, 2 side veggies, 2 cocktails. I ate all of my steak before any of the veggies. Steak was cooked just right, medium, a little crust on the edges. Enjoyed every bite.... More

Wow, not only is this a superb steakhouse, it is a superb mashed potato house! So glorious they were, they almost overshadowed my filet mignon, almost. The Lemon Drop I ordered was perfectly prepared. I would probably skip dessert next time and maybe order a side of mashed potatoes to go.

I recently ended up at this location for a business dinner and was pleasantly surprised. I'm usually the one picking locations and I didn't even know where we were going but the name threw me off a little. I must admit, the food, atmosphere and service were excellent. This is not your quiet little steak house. Be ready for a... More

I've traveled widely on 5 continents and to hundreds of cities. I count 3 restaurants in my experience where everything I put in my mouth was a complete delight and the combination of other factors (ambiance, presentation, staff, price) made the dining experience top-notch. El Gaucho is one of these 3. The ambiance is truly elegant in style, decor, music,... More

We have been going to El Gaucho for 20 years to celebrate special occasions; by far our favorite Seattle restaurant. Tonight we finally stopped by the bar for Happy Hour. It was outstanding. The truffle mushroom soup was the best mushroom soup I have ever had, I will dream about it! The wicked shrimp (perfect bites for two) the seafood... More

The food was awesome. The service was the best I have ever experienced! The entertainment consists of them preparing a variety of different foods right in front of you with wonderful descriptions. Warning - it is a bit on the expensive side. You will get a ton of food. Do share plates and they don't mind.

Have been here often. Came a few weeks ago for a bourbon dinner, which was great. This time with wife, son, and his wife. Food as always, great. Service exceptional, and personal as always. Expensive, but redeemed Reveler Club value, which saved me a lot of money, especially with $50 credit for birthday month.

We went to El Gaucho for dinner on my birthday. Fortunately, it was also Seattle Restaurant week so we got a special deal 3 courses for about $40 including the service charge. Without that it would have been a very expensive special occasion dinner. It was a superb dinner - the absolute highlight was the truffle soup.

We walked in 7pm on Friday night and found a table in the bar area, close to the piano. The pianist plays lounge background music; he 's played at El Gaucho for 20 years! The garlic bread was warm and they brought another basket (or 2) upon request. Dinner was yummy and expensive but worth it. Classy atmosphere...waiters wear tuxedos.... More

We went as part of restaurant week and it's a bargain at $33 for starter, main and dessert. Regular menu starts at $35 for cheapest steak. Got a very friendly greeting from the hostess, didn't like the table she showed us to and she immediately took us to a different one, better for conversation with friends. Penlights are a necessity... More
