The Mai Tais are good... The Plantation Mai Tai is awesome and not nearly as sweat as the don's Mai Tai. The ribs and potato mac salad were just so-so. Coconut shrimp were good. The island breeze salad was wet good. Lacey was great. Always a friendly smile and service was very good. ... best sunset ever!

Have say that it was a pleasant surprise. Our waiter , Douglas, was great. We had the prime rib, potatoes, salad, and mushrooms. The meat was tender and not too fatty. The view and the sunset are great. The Mai Tai and Cosmo were well made as well. Would definitely go back.

We stayed at the Royal Kona Resort and Don's was on site. The restaurant area is open for an extensive breakfast buffet and for dinner. For lunch you can order from Don's Mai Tai Bar.

Stopped here for one of their world famous Mai Tai. Supposedly this is where they were invented. Bar was crowded and very busy. Great view of the ocean and got to see the sunset. Mai Tai's are better elsewhere especially for the price.

Loved Don the Beachcomber bar, especially their Happy Hour. Specialty drinks and pupu's 4-6pm. You have to try their Pina Coladas and definitely have the "Kona Itch" cocktail, it even comes with a backscratcher. Awesome for watching the beautiful sunsets there.

Don the Beachcomber is a great bar situated on the beach at the Royal Kona Resort. It is a throw back to the 1060's Tiki bar era. The views at sunset are spectacular. Great Appies. The Ahi tuna is some of the best I've ever had. My daughter was a huge fan of their Calamari rating it the best on... More

Don the Beachcomber is our favorite spots to end a busy day while in Kailua-Kona. While parking can sometime be an issue it is worth the small inconvenience. While it does cost to park at the Royal Kona Hotel your ticket will be validated at the bar therefore making your parking free. The best thing about this bar is the... More

Can't comment on the food, but a great location overlooking the waterfront of Kailua town, on the outcrop on the southern end. You can't be a Tiki Bar lover without knowing about the history of Don The Beachcomber, along with Trader Vic's, Kon Tiki, etc, etc. Sit at the bar out on the end of the promontory and soak up...
