Each year when we come to Kona, we have dinner at Jackie Rey’s Ohana Grill. Dinner tonight was the same as always—excellent menu choices, great service, wonderful food, and nice atmosphere. We always notice a number of locals are present which says a lot.

Went at recommendation of concierge. Told to use hotel discount card to get $10 off if we spent more than $50. Dinner was great and bill for 2 was over $90. Was told they could not honor discount as we had a glass of wine...More

Customer service and great food make for a great place to eat. We had visited about 4 years ago and happily found our way back. Ono was special today and chef cooked it perfectly. Macadamia nut bar for dessert topped it off! Don’t let parking...More

Cool local (non hotel resort) spot. We had a great time. If you were driving past, you probably wouldn’t notice. I’d recommend stopping in if you’re into the non resort restaurant vibe.

We ate at Jackie Rey's twice during out last week long visit to Kona. The food and service was fantastic. Some say you should never order the specials offered but we found that to be absolutely not the case at Jackie Rey's. The fish was...More

We’d heard and read good things about Jackie Rey’s while vacationing on the big island. My husband is a vegetarian and we chose the restaurant since they had options for him, which few restaurants there seemed to. We were pleased they took reservations and thankful...More

I wondered why so many people wrote great Trip Advisor reviews for Jackie Reys, and why a reservation is necessary. After enjoying dinner there, I understood. This restaurant is packed. If you want a quiet intimate restaurant, go somewhere else. Food and service are outstanding....More

Room is large and chic for Hilo. Food is fantastic. Fish tacos and tuna tartare were delicious and fresh. A must if looking to dine in Hilo.

As usual the food was amazing. Love the atmosphere, with the windows that are wide open with no “windows”! We had made a reservation, but still had to wait about 10 minutes, although we were a bit early so fair enough. Would definitely recommend! Worth...More

It was hard to get a reservation, but I'm glad we did. Parking was tricky -- there's not enough -- and it was noisy inside, but the food was great. We got the seafood trio -- fish, a crab cake and shrimp. The fish was...More

Grilled foods not normally separated during cooking but may be able to be cooked separately of which you would have to talk to the chef or management first. Aloha

Your question has been answered but I would also advise you to rent a car. The island is large and so beautiful that you need to explore it. I love the small towns in the high country. The ride from you hotel is nice and the... More
