Husband and I stopped at this little place after looking at reviews on trip advisor, reviews were right on with the food. However the minute we walked in the women hostess with blonde hair was so mean to the staff she didn't even acknowledge us for a good while and we were the only ones waiting at that time to... More

If you're looking for a place the locals go for lunch, this is it. We skipped the buffet and had some interesting Cajun fare.

I always make Lil Dizzy's my first stop when I arrive in New Orleans. I don't even take my bags to the hotel. I always feels welcome. The service, the food, the people, are all wonderful. You feel like you just sat down at your favorite family members table. The owner walks right up to your table and talks to... More

Popular among locals and recommended by out B&B owners and you don’t have to think why. Nice old building, good service and excellent food. We ate Crab omelet and biscuit and potato salad and off course famous cupcakes with coffee. Everything was great.

Wonderful NOLA experience! Upon arrival, our hostess at the AirB&B told us about this place. It's a southern diner experience with all the locals and hustle and bustle of the neighborhood! It's creole and southern fried at its finest! I had the Shrimp PoBoy and others had the fish platters. They also had a lunch buffet and told us not... More

Located on Esplanade Avenue in Treme' Li'l Dizzy's delivers authentic Creole and Southern fare in a friendly, family atmosphere. There is usually a line out the door of this small cafe. Order from the menu if you like ~ dishes like Trout Baquet & the Oyster Platter are legendary favorites. But if your appetite knows no bounds, opt for the... More

If you like gumbo, fried chicken, smothered pork chops, Mac & Cheese, followed by bread pudding this is the place for lunch. Don't expect white table clothes and 5 star service. Yes, it is a buffet but that doesn't take away anything from the food. The food is wonderful. As a New Orleans native I love the place, and bring... More

We ate here on our first morning in NOLA. It was on the way to our walk to the art museum. The food was excellent and the coffee delicious. It was rather crowded so we sat outside and had a great conversation with another couple. They said the fried chicken was delicious. I had a seafood omelette which was phenomenal.

Had an Awesome experience. We were greeted by a few ladies and seated. Given the choice of the buffet or ordering I chose to get a bowl of Gumbo & the salad bar, with a glass of Tea. The salad bar was basic, But fresh. The gumbo was simply wonderful. Plenty of seafood and a half of a blue crab.... More

Neighbourhood Profile
That sound? That flavor? That certain je ne sais quoi that lets you known you’re in “Nawlins” and nowhere else? It’s all good and in broad abundance on the streets of Tremé, where so much of what’s considered to be the very best of New Orleans culture and tradition is, put simply, just how people go about their daily lives in this historic part of town. As one of America’s oldest African-American neighborhoods and among the nation’s first established residential areas for free people of color, Tremé’s significant heritage and contribution cannot be understated. This is especially the case when considering some of Tremé’s most famous residents, most notably jazz great Louis Armstrong. For full flavored food, funky and jazzed up music, and vibrant street life presented with homegrown pride, you can’t beat a visit to Tremé.
