This was our first trip to New Orleans, and upon recommendation from someone at our hotel we visited Oceana Grill. We were so happy we did. We were seated in the outdoor patio area which has a very eclectic, relaxed feel and were immediately greeted with an exceptionally friendly server that was more than happy to help us choose our... We only live about 45 minutes away from New Orleans and Oceana is one of our favorite places to eat. The staff is very friendly and the food is terrific. Eat the Redfish, it is definitely the best the have . The crab cakes run a close second . Can't advise on desert. We were always too full to try... More

Crabcakes are the most delicious of all I have eaten. Every bite is complete crab meat. Topped with a crawfish sauce seasoned just right, these Crabcakes will not be forgotten. My husband and I live in Baton Rouge but will drive to NOLA just to savor this delectable Oceana specialty!!

Spent a few days in NOLA for our anniversary. As always, we went to Oceana Grill. I always get the house Redfish special. It is divine! Sometimes a wait to get seated, but the food and service is worth it!

I had eaten here several years ago and it was fantastic. Talked my friend into going over the weekend. We ordered shrimp poboys. The bread was hard and the shrimp were overcooked. Nothing like I had remembered. The best they could do was take 10% off our bill. Will not go back!

The atmosphere was casual and the wait staff was accommodating. I appreciate the early warning of rain coming and the staff asked if I wanted to move inside. The fried oysters were good. Having a something other than tarter sauce would have made them better. The shrimp was fried perfectly but lacked real flavor. The collard greens were tender and... More

I sat at the bar as a solo (beating the queue for tables) and this was great as I was able to strike up conversations with people on both sides. The girl behind the bar was quick courteous and efficient. She recommended the Alligator Po'boy. It was delicious.

6 of us enjoyed breakfast. We showed up 1/2 hour before they opened and they let us in. The lost bread is the best and the corned beef hash is also very good.

My husband had the Taste of New Orleans sampler. It was good, not great. Wish it had been separated in bowls. It all came kind of mushed together. I had crab cakes, good. The best part was the chargrilled oyster! They were awesome! Waitress was great, very friendly. Atmosphere and location great. Would go again.

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
