Food was excellent and the service was very good. Grilled oysters were really good. There was a short wait, but not that long. Was a great place to take a break from all the craziness of Bourbon Street.

We ate at Oceana for lunch on our check out day of Carnival. We were very pleased with the server and the food. Appetizer - Chargrilled Oysters with a cream sauce. They were good and unique. The sauce had a blend of cheeses and cream which is a change up from the normal chargrilled oyster. My husband ordered the smothered... More

While on our trip in in NOLA, our mission was to find the best crab cakes. With so many restaurant options it can be a little overwhelming to choose where to eat. Well, mission accomplished at Oceana Grill!! The crab cakes were large, filled with lump juicy crab, and the cream sauce was to die for!! As if the crab... More

Ate hear on the suggestion of our hotel clerk. Our waiter was excellent throughout the dinner. He recommended the crab cakes appetizer which were the best we ever had. The main course was the Redfish, and was equally delicious. I happened to leave my credit card behind, and the waiter passed it on to the office staff, who secured it... More

This place was just okay. We thought it would be better considering there was a line out the door. We ordered the oysters and they just weren't as fresh. It didn't taste as fresh. The red fish was good and perfectly cooked but the star was the etouffe. Gumbo was okay. Overall just an okay meal. Nothing that stood out.

My first time in New Orleans so I wanted some authentic Louisiana cuisine. My server Ponce offered some suggestions and I wasn't disappointed. Great food, drinks and atmosphere right in the heart of the French Quarters.

Went there for dinner with my fiancé. I had the Crawfish Etoufee and it was amazing! My fiancé had the blackened Redfish, and the wait staff was happy to adjust her order and modify the menu to her liking. Its a very casual setting, central location, and great tasty food.

We ate lunch there and were all very impressed with the food. I couldn't decide between the shrimp or blackened seafood poor boy sandwich so I asked our waiter, Punch, what he recommended. He had the kitchen make me a sandwich with half each on it. I loved it! Definitely should be on your must do list.

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
