New Orleans food critic Tom Fitzmorris speaks highly of this place. I was passing by, so I had to check it out. Only visited the bakery. Was packed for a Sunday afternoon. Got some delicious meat pies that didn't make it out of the parking lot, French bread for later and cookies and pies for Christmas gifts. Outstanding!

We visited the bakery side of the building for Bahn-Mi sandwiches to go. The sandwiches survived our three-hour car ride home nicely! The veggies were crisp and fresh, and the meat was delicious. The bread....on my. It was perfection. Good chew, tender inside, lightly crisp crust outside. Baked in house. We got two different kinds of sandwiches but liked the... More

We never would have found this restaurant were it not near a place where my husband had a business appointment. We'll definitely go out of our way to go there again. The best VN meal I've ever eaten by far (including in VN). We both had vermicelli: one shrimp wrapped with sugar cane, the other grilled shrimp & pork. Both... More

Situated in East New Orleans and housed in a simple building with a full parking lot and an ever- present queue, you will find an amazing experience. A huge bin of pillowy, hot, crisp baguettes greets you as you follow the line to the Banh Mi station in the bakery. There you will find all the fixings and toppings for... More

The name plaque says 'restaurant,' so I was taken aback when the server simply gave me my food in a takeaway bag. Worse, he made no apologies for his assumptions when I pointed out that I never said it was takeaway. To top it off, as I started to leave, I could hear him mimicking me to his coworker. SERIOUSLY.... More

Dong Phuong is divided into two sides: restaurant to the left and bakery to the right. Enter the bakery and head straight back and you get to the po'boy counter. The two hard-working ladies at this particular counter, on the extreme eastern side of a bakery that's on the extreme eastern side of the city, dish up the best po'... More

Love this place. Stopped in for lunch. They offer plenty of lunch specials daily or just order from the menu. You really can't go wrong. They are all made fresh and tasty. Whatever you do decide you won't be disappointed. Don't forget to stop in the bakery. The bread is fantastic and very inexpensive. I took some home with me... More

This restaurant has become a staple for those who live or work in NO East. Worth the short drive off I-10 for the best Pho' and French bread in town - and yes - better than Leidenheimers. Massive menu, courteous staff, reasonable prices all make this a "must do." Be sure to try the sandwiches and meat pies in the... More

Disappointed I was too full to try the Banh Mi. I will start off with this the next time I visit FOR SURE! Service was good. Atmosphere was good for a small or large group.

Very worth the trek out to NOLA East. Best Banh Mi around and tons of delicious and unique treats. The #10 is a vegetarian's best friend. So fresh and so good!
