We stopped in for lunch while on Magazine street on a Tuesday. The space is bright and open, has high ceilings and white table cloth tables. Service was great. The food was good - we had fried green tomatoes (served with fresh mozzarella like a caprese salad), shrimp and grits and Mac n cheese. Everything was good. My favorite were... More

We started with a Cassius Club cocktail from their large cocktail menu. I am a tomato junkie, if there is a salad featuring tomatoes on the menu I will order it. La Petite Grocery's Fried Green Tomatoes with burrata, arugula, country ham & herb oil was the best version of fried green tomatoes and one of the best Caprese style... More

Our group of four had dinner at La Petite Grocery a few months ago and we all enjoyed both the food and the ambiance. I had made reservations through Open Table and they were expecting us. The menu choices were creative and the staff was friendly, welcoming and efficient. It was a little warm inside even in February but this... More

This restaurant was recommended but turned out to be very mediocre. The menu was rather dull and uninspiring; worst of all hot appetizers came out cold - not once but twice. When we decided to go with one of the special appetizers, we were disappointed again. This selection, pork rib, was smothered in soy sauce which left a bad aftertaste.... More

We dined here for a special anniversary. This was our first visit to this restaurant. It was a Friday evening, at 7:15, and it was very busy. We were greeted and seated immediately. Abby, our server, was very attentive and very knowledgeable. We started with an appetizer, Steak Tartare. It was a little different take than we were used to... More

We'd heard good reviews and decided to Uber over to the Garden District to try this spot. Cute decor and tasty food. The crab stuffed beignets, warm beet salad, and alligator pasta were all delicious.

This restaurant was one of our highlight finds on our trip to New Orleans. We took a cab out from the French Quarter and it was so worth it. Ridiculously good food and excellent service. The building is cool too - and old grocery from the 1800s, exquisitely refurbished. We couldn't fault anything about it, and recommend you book in... More

We had one of the most memorable meals in this restaurant. After eating out many nights (I was here for a conference), it became increasingly more difficult to find a restaurant to impress us after the great meal we had the night before. La Petite Grocery sure did impress us! I had the crispy pork confit and my boyfriend had... More

Absolutely love this place. Wonderful food, staff, drinks, in a very quaint and comfortable setting. One of my favorite spots in Nola. Never been disappointed!

I was at this place 4 years ago and I really loved it , so we went back ! Even ordered the plate I liked the most last time a classic Shrimp and Grits. Shrimps had horrible chlorine taste, I had to return to kitchen, the special appetizer of blue crabs was really nothing special, good service, very very expensive,... More

Staying in Garden District

Neighbourhood Profile
Garden District
Head to the Garden District for the full-on New Orleans experience replete with quaintly clanking streetcars, proudly grandiose antebellum mansions, picture perfect avenues lined with live oaks loaded down with Spanish moss, and a wealth of beautiful churches and many more architectural marvels. Even a brief excursion here makes plain why it’s called the Garden District. So, when you visit be sure to give yourself ample time for admiration at a languidly slow pace befitting such gentile strand of riverside living and to allow you to maximize each opportunity to stop and smell the roses – and whichever other blooms you might come across. While taking it all in, you’d do well to dine at one of the city’s most beloved destinations for regional cuisine. Gourmands from far and wide (and right round the corner) swear the age-old Commander’s Palace is the best restaurant in town – and have been doing so since it opened back in 1880.
