Great place for friends or date. Food was great. That must be it was great. The bar was great. The desserts were great. This is an excellent restaurant with outstanding service. I'd recommend on your next visit to NOLA.

But let me tell you, both the cocktails (I especially enjoyed the Sandhill Crane) and the service at the bar were excellent. The restaurant itself was a bit smaller than I expected, but really lovely, and we felt right at home there. I'd jump at the chance to go back for a meal the next time we're in town --... More

It's no surprise that this place is rated as one of the best restaurants in the south. Located at the edge of the Irish Channel away from the noise of the quarter but easily accessible by street car (take the St. Charles car to Napoleon and walk two blocks to Magazine). Everything from the bar, cocktails, service, and food is... More

Returned to LPG for a second visit with high hopes that it would be as wonderful as the first time. Well I was not disappointed. To be honest the most recent visit was even better than the first and I didn't think that was possible! From the first sip of the first cocktail throughout the appetizers (all great, decisions hard... More

Third visit to LPG as great as first two. Innovative creative menu and an unlikely place to find a great burger. My guest got one on first visit so I returned for my second visit and alas, out of burgers! Third time was the charm, the burger was incredible. On three visits we have navigated the specials on black board... More

We visited La Petite Grocery for a wonderful dinner. Service was excellent. Food was superb! We tried various appetizers: blue crab beignets, fried green tomatoes, haricots verde with blue cheese, and beet salad with crawfish....all were exceptional. For entrees my wife enjoyed her shrimp and grits and I was very pleased with my duck confit. Our friends were also impressed... More

I've had three experiences at LaPetite and all have been exceptional. I've had several fish dishes and I'm always tempted by the LPG burger so that is a must have on my next visit. Great food, great service, cool place and a must not miss.

We visit New Orleans a lot and often with our 8 & 10 year old boys, which makes eating out at a nice restaurant difficult. We decided to go early and give it a shot. One of the best dining decisions over! Our waitress was so incredible and made our meal very special. My son had the hamburger, which he... More

Staying in Garden District

Neighbourhood Profile
Garden District
Head to the Garden District for the full-on New Orleans experience replete with quaintly clanking streetcars, proudly grandiose antebellum mansions, picture perfect avenues lined with live oaks loaded down with Spanish moss, and a wealth of beautiful churches and many more architectural marvels. Even a brief excursion here makes plain why it’s called the Garden District. So, when you visit be sure to give yourself ample time for admiration at a languidly slow pace befitting such gentile strand of riverside living and to allow you to maximize each opportunity to stop and smell the roses – and whichever other blooms you might come across. While taking it all in, you’d do well to dine at one of the city’s most beloved destinations for regional cuisine. Gourmands from far and wide (and right round the corner) swear the age-old Commander’s Palace is the best restaurant in town – and have been doing so since it opened back in 1880.
