We walked around for a while looking for somewhere to draw us into eat. This restaurant certainly did that. It was very busy but I see that as a good sign & as we hadn't booked were told there was a short delay of about 20 mins before they could seat us. No problem! We wanted to try new dishes... More

Started with lump crab cake and seafood gumbo, both very good. My husband ordered BQ Shrimp a signature dish. I ordered the Grouper with crawfish risotto. Mine was very average and a bit over cooked. The BQ Shrimp was very good. They do a good job of getting people in and out quickly. Every course came fairly quickly which may... More

Mr B's Bistro is one of my favorite restaurants in NOLA and it is the first place I go upon arriving. And, I go there every chance I get for their BBQed shrimp. Their version is not really BBQed at all but comes in the shell sautéed in the most delicious garlic, spice and butter sauce one can possibly imagine.... More

We were in New Orleans during NBA All Star weekend and made a reservation at Mr. Bs Bistro for their Sunday Jazz Brunch. Everything was amazing!! We had Mr. Bs Crab Cake and Seafood Gumbo as appetizers and the Shrimp & Grits and Beef Debris & Eggs - highly recommend them ALL!! They were absolutely delicious. The service was superb... More

We came with a group for dinner. I ordered the Gumbo ya-ya and shrimp & grits. Yum and yum! The place was packed, and people were waiting - on a Wednesday night. It's a bit pricey, but the food was delicious. Everyone enjoyed their meals. I was too full for dessert.

One of my travel mates had been here before and wanted a return visit and I was happy to oblige (duh food). I was not disappointed. I had shrimp with pasta (sooooo good) and they had the hamburger (proclaimed best burger ever and this from a big fan of burgers). Nice atmosphere and the bartender is a hoot.

We visited Mr B's Bistro for the Sunday Brunch jazz. The bistro has a chilled relaxed atmosphere, staff were attentive without being intrusive. This was an introduction to southern food for us and we were not disappointed. We both had seafood gumbo? For our main course, I had Cajun shrimp with poached eggs. My husband had smoked salmon hash, All... More

We had been referred to Mr. B's Bistro for their BBQ's shrimp and grits. We arrived for dinner within 5 minutes of when they stopped seating for dinner. We were told we could go to the bar for limited meal. Chose to do that but only had appetizers to chose from and we did not get what we ordered. WE... More

Highly recommend Mr. B's for fine dining while in New Orleans. Mr. B's is a fine place to dine. They do not open until 5:30 for evening meals, but we were seated promptly without a reservations and the wait staff (some who have been there many years) are professional, courteous and prompt. The food absolutely delicious and very flavorful. I... More

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
