Stumbled upon this eatery while trying to find a place to eat late on a Saturday afternoon. Fantastic food and drink. The Mexican food we ordered was tops. Friendly waiters and servers. Next time we are in New Orleans this will be on our list of places to eat.

Our food here was good, but not exceptional. Unfortunately, there was a little bone in the chicken enchiladas. The service was okay. I wouldn’t have to return.

My boyfriend and I just happened to stop in one afternoon simply because we were hungry. We had never heard of the place before. We ordered chips, salsa and guacamole to start things off. Oh my goodness, they were the best chips and the best salsa and the best guacamole we have ever had anywhere and we love Mexican food... More

After walking almost 7km from French quarter up and through the garden district my partner and I knew we could pick up something tasty on the trip back along Magazine St. Luckily we stumbled across this little beauty on our return. The tacos were clean, fresh and amazingly tasty. It was obviously made to order, even the salad was crisp... More

Five selected tacos are featured in their Taco Tuesday offering. We both went with a fresh choice of grilled veggies called the Mardi Gras Indians. Beans, grilled corn and squash. A nice couple of bites. Their fresh squeezed margarita comes in a short glass, the happy hour special gives you a double at the same cost. Cool place, cold drinks.

Ginormous and super good burritos, the queso con chorizo was the bomb. Great place for a quick bite and/or if you're hungover.

Very good mojito, another run and coke for the boyfriend. Guacamole and chips so good. The vibe here in Garden district is so laid back and relaxed. Great shops next door and down the street. Bartender Jeff is awesome.

We made the mistake of being so close to the Irish Channel during NOLAs one week early St. Pat's Parade so finding a lunch place was tricky. Thankfully, we got to Juan's just before a rush. Proper new style Mexican food. I got the signature flying burrito. It has steak, chicken and shrimp and pretty much anything else that is... More

What a great find! If you like Mexican food then this is the place for you. There are lots of choices and lots of great combinations of Mexican and seafood. Definitely check it out. Oh BTW, the margaritas are also fabulous.

I ate here twice as it's convenient if you're in the Garden District. It had the added benefit of serving fajitas (very good and one of my favorites) with so many toppings that I was able to take something home for later. It's fun to go through their drink list as well. I particularly enjoyed their hard lemonade. Service was... More

Staying in Garden District

Neighbourhood Profile
Garden District
Head to the Garden District for the full-on New Orleans experience replete with quaintly clanking streetcars, proudly grandiose antebellum mansions, picture perfect avenues lined with live oaks loaded down with Spanish moss, and a wealth of beautiful churches and many more architectural marvels. Even a brief excursion here makes plain why it’s called the Garden District. So, when you visit be sure to give yourself ample time for admiration at a languidly slow pace befitting such gentile strand of riverside living and to allow you to maximize each opportunity to stop and smell the roses – and whichever other blooms you might come across. While taking it all in, you’d do well to dine at one of the city’s most beloved destinations for regional cuisine. Gourmands from far and wide (and right round the corner) swear the age-old Commander’s Palace is the best restaurant in town – and have been doing so since it opened back in 1880.
