Very friendly place. Great service. About food: many dish choices are deep fried. As for me, I don't eat fried food on a regular basis, but being in Joey's, I thought I will join the club. And I was right - their food is simply delicios. Price wise - not too cheap, but affordable prices for fresh ingredients they provide

We had a local recommend this restaurant and he was right about the food being good. We met friends there and it was quiet enough to hear each other talk. The food was good and the servings were large. The only complaint was the service. I had to flag down our waitress many times because she failed to check on... More

I would give this five stars, but the service is sketchy at best. The food is very good. I had a shrimp Po boy, delicious. Onion rings, corn bisque, salad all very good and tasty. Unfortunately, we sat for at least 15 minutes before our waiter even acknowledged us. He did mess up on order but later corrected it. We... More

The food at Joey K's is pretty good although the service is just average. It really doesn't take much to at least be friendly. I had the plate lunch of white beans and rice with a fried breaded pork chop. The dish was quite good although you can tell from the picture that the food had sat for a while... More

Stumbled on this corner restaurant in the Garden District looking for authentic southern fried chicken. Blown away. The side dishes did not measure up to the main course but the chicken was so good we didn't care. Excellent service.

While shopping on Magazine Street we were looking for a light lunch spot and happened upon Joey K's. Super crowded so we figured it must be good. Sat outside on a gorgeous afternoon and ordered soup and a baguette - seafood gumbo and corn crab bisque - amazing. Prompt, friendly service. Will definitely come back!

We wandered into Joey K'S on our walk down Magazine street. The "Sorry we're open" sign just below the sign that said " Barmacy" caused our curiousity and we just had to go in. The egg plant and prawns were absolutely delicious and the fried green tomatoes looked amazing, you better try them to. This is a really fun happening... More

My husband and I stumbled into Joey K's after a walking tour of the Garden District. Funny how some of the best meals are the ones you don't plan. My husband had the catfish po' boy and I had the roast beef debris po' boy and we shared an order of the sweet potato fries. The sandwiches were very large... More

Staying in Garden District

Neighbourhood Profile
Garden District
Head to the Garden District for the full-on New Orleans experience replete with quaintly clanking streetcars, proudly grandiose antebellum mansions, picture perfect avenues lined with live oaks loaded down with Spanish moss, and a wealth of beautiful churches and many more architectural marvels. Even a brief excursion here makes plain why it’s called the Garden District. So, when you visit be sure to give yourself ample time for admiration at a languidly slow pace befitting such gentile strand of riverside living and to allow you to maximize each opportunity to stop and smell the roses – and whichever other blooms you might come across. While taking it all in, you’d do well to dine at one of the city’s most beloved destinations for regional cuisine. Gourmands from far and wide (and right round the corner) swear the age-old Commander’s Palace is the best restaurant in town – and have been doing so since it opened back in 1880.
