We had shrimp and onion rings. Good food and service. The price was moderate. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

In an effort to get away from the French Quarter and find a family friendly restaurant for dinner, my daughter and I headed to Joey K's after reading good reviews here and elsewhere, and on the recommendations of friends and locals. Joey K's is a nice place with cool artwork by Simon on the wall. It has a kids menu... More

I went here on a food tour, and we tasted the Eggplant Napoleon and the red beans and rice. Both were delicious! The eggplant was so crisp even with the crawfish sauce on it. The shrimp were so good, and the sauce... OMG! This is only an appetizer but could be a meal on its own.

I came here with my family for dinner last week and we were all very impressed. They have a nice mix of NOLA standard dishes plus lots of stick to your ribs home cooking dishes on special for ten bucks (meatloaf one night, chicken fried steak the next, etc. - and you always get huge portions. I strongly recommend starting... More

I have eaten here many times "over the years." My Dad loved to take me here (when I came home) with my Mother back in the 1990's and now they are both gone---so I love to take people here in honor of my parents. The service and the food were wonderful. I had the one of the daily specials, the... More

Table for two. 8:00 PM. The day after Christmas. Extremely busy. Sidewalk table. I ordered a Roast Beef Debris Poboy and Cup of Red Beans and Rice off the menu while my companion ordered Corned Beef and Cabbage from the list of daily specials. Our meals were warm but not hot. My poboy was small. Otherwise, the meal was tasty... More

Staying in Garden District

Neighbourhood Profile
Garden District
Head to the Garden District for the full-on New Orleans experience replete with quaintly clanking streetcars, proudly grandiose antebellum mansions, picture perfect avenues lined with live oaks loaded down with Spanish moss, and a wealth of beautiful churches and many more architectural marvels. Even a brief excursion here makes plain why it’s called the Garden District. So, when you visit be sure to give yourself ample time for admiration at a languidly slow pace befitting such gentile strand of riverside living and to allow you to maximize each opportunity to stop and smell the roses – and whichever other blooms you might come across. While taking it all in, you’d do well to dine at one of the city’s most beloved destinations for regional cuisine. Gourmands from far and wide (and right round the corner) swear the age-old Commander’s Palace is the best restaurant in town – and have been doing so since it opened back in 1880.
