This is a simple review... without a doubt a must visit! Here's what you should get: boom boom shrimp, boo fries, the peacemaker po boy...oh yeah, and THE CHARBROILED OYSTERS! This place is perfection, wait as long as you have to, its worth it...trust me!

I was really hoping for a great time and a delicious meal, after waiting outside in line for almost 40 minutes. We got a seat at the bar, because that was first available. There were 2 bar tenders working behind the bar, one was very personable and friendly. The other had the WORST attitude towards customers. I requested a couple... More

Little wait but not long. Sat at the oyster bar, fun to watch and our "server" had good suggestions without being chatty. Charbroiled oysters were fabulous, fish and shrimp plate very tasty and generous. Had wine so a must was the bread pudding!!

Ate here at least once per day or more for 5days. Great service, atmosphere and everyone friendly. Oysters were excellent! Love setting at the bar watching them shuck oysters. Would recommend to anyone liking oysters. I noticed setting at the bar you typically received bigger oysters.

Well known restaurant, but dine somewhere else, unless you want oysters. Most of the food we had was frozen. Won't go back.

We timed our visit just right and managed to beat the line, yay us! There's pretty much always a line. Friendly, attentive staff, food came fast and fresh. We had appetizers and poboys, a shrimp, a chicken and a softshell crab. Watching the oyster shuckers is interesting. I can't personally comment on the raw oysters but I have had their... More

You should always order the raw oysters. They are so good. I also had the shrimp po-boy and was happy and the dirty fries (roast beef bits). I have had smoked oysters and they are good. I have never gone away unhappy (OK the first week they opened after Katrina had some ugly oysters). Try oyster shooters.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
