Wonderful! Duck Hash, shrimp and grits, fried chicken biscuit fruit plates all fantastic! Attentive service. A tad cramped in general with salad bar and band but not a deal breaker! Loved the ceiling detail blur the lighting!!!!

Good seafood and southern delicacies in an intimate setting. A good cocktail list, too. The little garden out front and mixture of clientele makes this a nice alternative to the many, more touristy choices closer to the Quarter.

I had the etoufee (sp?) omelette. Incredibly rich but so good. The bloody mary bar is unique and a fun and casual way to kick off Sunday brunch. The service was brusque but efficient. Crowded bar made for a bit of a challenge to get a bloody mary while waiting for a table. Limited seating makes it a place that... More

With lots of brunch choices, we made the ride out to this one because of good reviews but were a little disappointed. The service was slow. (Our waitress looked like she'd had a really rough night the night before.) I ordered cornbread when we ordered the rest of our meal, didn't get it, then when our food finally came, I... More

We arrived as a group of 4 on a Friday night without reservations, yet they happily accommodated us without fuss. Our server, Shawn, was friendly and knowledgeable, and steered us toward the Free Form Crab Ravioli appetizer. It was really good, with mushrooms, shallots and kale, for that added "zing." We ordered another. The fried green tomatoes were good, too,... More

Really friendly staff with great food! Loved the location tucked back in a really cute neighborhood, while being walking distance to Magazine street with great shops/bars/restaurants. Build your own Bloody Mary bar. Highly recommend adding this to your must visit for brunch list.

We had the pleasure of dining at this super charming converted residence. Much had been said to us about the bartender who did not disappoint. We had the Category 5 cocktail; rum based and delicious. The special was a backed Cobia that melted in your mouth. Summer vegetable soup is a high recommend as it had a hint of heat... More

Who would have thought I'd be writing about a brunch as the best meal we had in four days of good eating in New Orleans? My award for the MOST delicious meal of the week...a wonderfully creative, good looking, and tasty duck hash...goes to Atchafalaya. My award for the best service goes to Rachel Tocco, the hostess and owner, who... More

The food was excellent. I had the Red Snapper with Polenta and it melted in my mouth. Had an issue getting drinks while we waited for our table - computer glitch. They made up for it by buying us a bottle of wine with dinner. The Blue Cheese Flan was an incredible dessert even though I am not a fan... More

We needed to increase our reservation size and even though we had to wait a bit we did get a table eventually. Staff were good. Meals were enjoyed. Wine took a bit of time to arrive.

Staying in Garden District

Neighbourhood Profile
Garden District
Head to the Garden District for the full-on New Orleans experience replete with quaintly clanking streetcars, proudly grandiose antebellum mansions, picture perfect avenues lined with live oaks loaded down with Spanish moss, and a wealth of beautiful churches and many more architectural marvels. Even a brief excursion here makes plain why it’s called the Garden District. So, when you visit be sure to give yourself ample time for admiration at a languidly slow pace befitting such gentile strand of riverside living and to allow you to maximize each opportunity to stop and smell the roses – and whichever other blooms you might come across. While taking it all in, you’d do well to dine at one of the city’s most beloved destinations for regional cuisine. Gourmands from far and wide (and right round the corner) swear the age-old Commander’s Palace is the best restaurant in town – and have been doing so since it opened back in 1880.
