I cant remember all the details other than this being one of the most delicious pulled pork biscuits in the city. It had a spicy cornbread, I believe, as the bottom, poached eggs and a hollandaise sauce on top. It was all a wonderful combination and just the right portions.

My husband and I have had the same breakfast at Coulis twice now, and we plan to return at least twice more before we leave New Orleans. The omelet was stuffed with mushrooms and spinach, the broiled tomato was delicious, and the buckwheat pancake was perfect. It is more like a crepe, really, and as big as the plate. The... More

I came here with the family while we were waiting for the birth of the newest addition. The hospital cafeteria was closed and Coulis was only 1 block away. Service was fast and friendly and breakfast was great. If you have to be at the hospital, this place makes a nice place to get a break and a bite to... More

Coulis is the second incarnation of a great breakfast place near Touro Infirmary. I look forward to going after doctors' appointments, knowing that i will get excellent service, a good old-fashioned breakfast (although more unusual or 'nouveau cuisine' options are available) and - what is most important to me - perfectly cooked bacon - crisp, but not dry.

Very busy diner and full of locals which is always a good sign. We had breakfast here twice during our stay in New Orleans. The food was well cooked and portion size was generous. Very friendly staff.

Would've thought a place with such high ratings would know the difference between eggs over easy and over well. Not a fan of runny egg whites, but I do like a warm, runny yolk. Did not want a fully cooked yolk on my huevos rancheros. The description reads "pepperjack stuffed corn tortilla," but I could not detect any cheese in... More

Portions are huge! I had the eggs benecio... And I gotta say, it's my favorite version of a Benedict now. Our server Jennifer was so very gracious and even invited us to a benefit run later in the day. Will be back for sure!

Staying in Garden District

Neighbourhood Profile
Garden District
Head to the Garden District for the full-on New Orleans experience replete with quaintly clanking streetcars, proudly grandiose antebellum mansions, picture perfect avenues lined with live oaks loaded down with Spanish moss, and a wealth of beautiful churches and many more architectural marvels. Even a brief excursion here makes plain why it’s called the Garden District. So, when you visit be sure to give yourself ample time for admiration at a languidly slow pace befitting such gentile strand of riverside living and to allow you to maximize each opportunity to stop and smell the roses – and whichever other blooms you might come across. While taking it all in, you’d do well to dine at one of the city’s most beloved destinations for regional cuisine. Gourmands from far and wide (and right round the corner) swear the age-old Commander’s Palace is the best restaurant in town – and have been doing so since it opened back in 1880.
