Visited based on all the great reviews. Wonderful staff but found the service to be average in comparison to our dinner the previous night at another establishment. Most of the food was good but ordered the lamb shank which I assumed would have been tender...More

We were warmly welcomed by the owner when we arrived without a reservation for six people. We did the COOLinary menu and one person did the Taste of New Orleans menu. Everything was fantastic, but the real winners included the fried green tomatoes, the duck/andouille...More

I took my mother to New Orleans for a girl's trip. Upperline is an experience. Gabriel was our waiter and there are not enough kind words for him! My mother asked him to surprise her with the choices and he did not disappoint. I had...More

The owner - Joanne - was interesting and gracious, the staff was accommodating (I'm lactose intolerant), the food was superb, and the service was excellent.

We went to Upperline on a recommendation from our son. Had the tasting dinner. It was excellent—every part of it. Service was attentive but not intrusive. Atmosphere was charming. Great way to begin a visit to NOLA

Numerous meals at Upperline subsequent to my 2014 posting below (including as recently as May 2018) confirm an earlier assessment. This is one of the City's best. If you haven't tried the lamb shank with risotto and mustard greens, you haven't seen the gates of...More

I don't remember seeing anyone in jeans. But khakis or something similar with a button up shirt is fine. Jackets not required.

I believe that they have two seatings per night. We were not rushed in any way and had a late reservation.
