This diner has been around since the 40s and still has that retro style. We had hamburgers and they were delicious and well priced. Staff good fun too. Right by a streetcar stop on the St Charles line so easy to get to.

I have heard so much about The Camellia Grill that I guess my expectations were set a little high. I knew that we would have to wait but once seated I didn't experience any of the " fun & lively staff " that others have...More

I've been here a few times. First for breakfast and had eggs and it was fun and a novelty. Good breakfast but you will be sitting at a counter. The staff is lovely and fun. The next time I was with some hungry college kids...More

I think this is the only restaurant that I've ever been to where it is just counter seating inside. They have maybe 20-25 seats. It is pretty neat getting to watch them make the food while your waiting for or eating your food. The servers...More

When you see a restaurant with lines out the door - pretty much all the time - and everyone is saying how "you just have to" try The Camellia Grill, perhaps one will be forgiven for having high expectations. Basically, The Camellia Grill is an...More

The Camellia grill is an old style diner with bar stools around several attentive servers at the counter. We did have to wait some time for a seat but it was well worth the wait for a great meal (omelette and burger for the 2...More

How the mighty have fallen. If you knew The Camellia Grill in its heyday, keep your fond memories intact and don't go now. Those of us who were regulars and now see plastic plates, pale, damp pecan waffles and limp fries will simply be disappointed....More

Breakfast Diner on Carrollton Ave in New Orleans for the hungry. Free Parking nearby. This is an old fashioned diner, all counters no tables. Veteran staff. Many Omelet choices, mine was the Mexican. Grits are available from 8am to 11am in place of hash brown...More

I had not been to the Camellia Grill in years and was sorry to go back when I was there for breakfast earlier this week. The once-great waffles are now a thin, floppy mess, not much more than a single pancake in size. The breakfast...More

Atmosphere is true New Orleans. Our server was a good guy, took care of things fine. Now the food, eh. Had a simple bacon cheese omlette with hash browns. So first, I don't think anyone should ever cook with cheese product. The cheese was either...More

Very much their own self sufficient unit within the
greater metro area, Uptown and Carrollton tone down

I really don't know. We were at the Camilla Grill right off St. Charles at the end of the streetcar line. I remember seeing it on the menu but I was focused on the pecan waffles.
