We had heard great things about this place and hoped the hype was real. It was!!! Dress code is required, but it was fun to get dressed up, especially for our occasion. We went in knowing it was going to be expensive and planning on taking advantage of all the offerings. We arrived about 45 minutes early and were taken... More

We were celebrating with family and I'm glad they made reservations for brunch, this is a very popular place. We sat on the 2nd floor in a glass room that was like eating in a tree house, very unique. Service was top notch, attentive, timely and helpful. The turtle soup was popular. I really enjoyed by soup trio of turtile... More

This was my second visit, first being about 6 months ago. I wasn't completely satisfied the first time and this time it just didn't work like I wished it had. I will mention we went on Thanksgiving. There were multiple options but not the typical menu. The service was attentive and on top of things. But there isn't something about... More

We tried numerous times and dates with no success, especially wanted to go to Sunday Brunch but did not make it. The Title of Review says it all......unless you have connections in the city.

I came to NOLA to celebrate my birthday and my dinner at Commander's Palace was perfection. Four of us were warmly welcomed and shown to our table decorated with balloons. Our meals were delicious and the service was exceptional!!! Thank you to Janet and all the young men who made the evening one to remember.

This is a restaurant with great service, good food, nothing special regarding ambiance and pricey menu. But, once again, I was disappointed not finding that great NOLA cuisine that I have heard about all my life.

This is fine New Orleans dining and fine New Orleans dining compete with anywhere. Note this is a jacket and tie place but they will lend you a jacket if you don't bring one. The dining if formal but the service is friendly, not snooty.

We went for lunch per a recommendation of a local. Their lunch specials are a great deal including $.25 martinis! We each had one of the specials, one with their famous turtle soup, & 1 with their amazing salad. Started off with smoked duck appetizer. Presentation and taste were both perfection.

Our party consisted of two adult couples in our “young” 50’s and we decided to dine here for Thanksgiving. Having never been to Commander’s Palace, I didn’t really know what to expect except that to has a long history of being one of the better restaurants in NOLA. As you probably have read by now, great restaurant, great food, etc.... More

Staying in Garden District

Neighbourhood Profile
Garden District
Head to the Garden District for the full-on New Orleans experience replete with quaintly clanking streetcars, proudly grandiose antebellum mansions, picture perfect avenues lined with live oaks loaded down with Spanish moss, and a wealth of beautiful churches and many more architectural marvels. Even a brief excursion here makes plain why it’s called the Garden District. So, when you visit be sure to give yourself ample time for admiration at a languidly slow pace befitting such gentile strand of riverside living and to allow you to maximize each opportunity to stop and smell the roses – and whichever other blooms you might come across. While taking it all in, you’d do well to dine at one of the city’s most beloved destinations for regional cuisine. Gourmands from far and wide (and right round the corner) swear the age-old Commander’s Palace is the best restaurant in town – and have been doing so since it opened back in 1880.
