Beautiful restaurant. We had a 6:30 reservation but arrived just before 6:00. Since seating didn't begin until 6:00, we were ushered to the bar in the back. I was expecting to wait for at least half an hour, but was pleasantly surprised when the hostess came to get us for seating right about 6:00. We were the first in the... More

Gorgeous restaurant with attentive service. The food is nothing to complain about, on the other hand it didn't blow me away. The best dish was the bbq shrimp with grit cake - the shrimp were flavorful and smoky, and the grit cake was more like polenta. My girlfriend had steak, which she really enjoyed, and I enjoyed the side of... More

We were a party of three and arrived early for our reservation so got seated at the bar. There were special bar appetizers you could order, so we got the carmelized bacon...AMAZING! We ordered another one to have at dinner. Unfortunately it did not get delivered, but still amazing enough to mention. We also ordered the basil gnocchis. Again, another... More

I went with 3 co-workers for dinner. We had a later reservation and went to the bar first. The bartenders were extremely friendly and even made suggestions for when we ordered dinner. For apps we ordered the boudin balls and bbq shrimp, both would good not great. For dinner we split the Louisiana drum, fish of the day, and 20oz... More

Visited to celebrate new job promotions- hoping for a delicious and romantic meal. Asked to sit in bar while our table was prepared- then taken upstairs. We were disappointed how loud and busy everything was- extremely hard to talk in large, open room. Service was exceptional and food was good but wanted a little more out of it.

Our family was in town for a wedding. We arrived a few days early to enjoy the city. We decided to go a different route from Cajun and Creole and have dinner at Delmonico's. In our group of 14, we had young children. 2 six year olds and a 3 year old. The size of the group necessitated 2 tables,... More

Went with a large group and they treated us like royalty. I had the gumbo which was fantastic not to spicy and had to kick it up a notch. For dinner I had the special fish selection outstanding. This was a great elegant meal experience. Well worth it.

We went to the restaurant to celebrate a birthday and the end of our time in New Orleans. We had the most wonderful meal with unbelievable food. The level of service was exceptional and special mention goes to our head waiter David. But his team were also wonderful. We vwere four and everyone had a different dish. Every one was... More

If your going to pay top dollar this is the place to go. Food was great. It was well prepared, tasted great and worth the what it cost for a beautiful night out. The service was great and attentive to detail. Fun group and made you feel at home. Nice atmosphere and would definitely go back again

I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant. From the moment we stepped through the doors until we left, we were treated so special. We sat in the bar for a little while because we showed up almost an hour early for our reservation; although they did give us the option of going ahead and being seated early. We... More

Staying in Garden District

Neighbourhood Profile
Garden District
Head to the Garden District for the full-on New Orleans experience replete with quaintly clanking streetcars, proudly grandiose antebellum mansions, picture perfect avenues lined with live oaks loaded down with Spanish moss, and a wealth of beautiful churches and many more architectural marvels. Even a brief excursion here makes plain why it’s called the Garden District. So, when you visit be sure to give yourself ample time for admiration at a languidly slow pace befitting such gentile strand of riverside living and to allow you to maximize each opportunity to stop and smell the roses – and whichever other blooms you might come across. While taking it all in, you’d do well to dine at one of the city’s most beloved destinations for regional cuisine. Gourmands from far and wide (and right round the corner) swear the age-old Commander’s Palace is the best restaurant in town – and have been doing so since it opened back in 1880.
