We were looking for a great place to eat steak while we were in New Orleans and the Chophouse was recommended by the Concierge at our Hotel. The service was amazing and the atmosphere was very romantic. I had informed the hostess upon making the reservations that we were coming for our anniversary and we were given a romantic corner... For last 19 years our favorite Steakhouse has been The Steakhouse at the San Louis Hotel in Galveston. If you have never been and are in the area, it is definitely worth the trip. The soufflé is still out of this world but with Landrys taking over we knew it would some day become just another Fertitta Steakhouse and the... More

Table is served by commitee and so nothing escapes notice and needs are met prior to your having to voice them. Everything we ordered was well presented and perfectly prepared. I enjoyed the 16oz New York Strip and Lyonnaise and almost went back the next night to have it again.

Atmofere was excellent. We enjoy the piano player as well the food and the service, and the massive chocolate cake.

The host staff was extremely unfriendly and not accommodating! We walked in @ 8:40 pm - asked for table 5 They quoted 11/2. We had called one block away and asked & they quoted 45 mins. I asked her why the difference 5 min later- she said someone else booked the table very rude. We asked to go bar have... More

In town for Mardi Gras. Took a chance and made a reservation. I wrongly assumed they would have no openings because of the crowds in town. Got in at a decent hour and had an exact repeat of our last dinner here. Food service atmosphere and cleanliness, on point. I plan on trying other items on the menu next time... More

My husband and I had the new York strips . They were cooked perfectly and were very tasty so were the sides of baked potatoes and mushrooms. We had to wait just a little bit for our table but they kindly bought us a drink to enjoy in the piano bar area. I thought that was a nice touch. I... More

We met friends in New Orleans. We stayed at the St. James Hotel. Located right next door was the Chophouse restaurant. My wife and I both had steaks. She had the ribeye and I had the Delmonico steak. They were cooked to perfection! One of the more favorable steaks I have ever had. The baked potato was huge and cooked... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
