We were recommended this place for breakfast by a local, we were staying on canal St so it was right around the corner. When we walked by around 11am there was a line but everything seemed well organised. We didn't know if this is usual for a Saturday or just the Saturday of Mardi Gras. We gave our name and... More

Get there early or be prepared for a line. I had the Banana Foster Stuffed French Toast on one of our visits this time. Delicious! And it comes with Pig Candy Bacon. It's a noisy, happening place. The waitsstaff is pleasant and the food is worth the wait!

My sister and I ate breakfast here this morning. The food was unique and fabulous, but perhaps even better was the service. Our waitress, Erin was happy and friendly from the moment we sat down. She even happily refused to let my sister order a boring, common breakfast like she could get anywhere else. She talked her into a Benedict,... More

We arrived and were told 1.25-1.5 hr wait, which we agreed to, and it took 1h19 mins. In the meantime, you can very easily order a great cocktail. We had a great waitress and the food was incredible. Highly recommend

This cafe is only open for breakfast, brunch and lunch. The food is worth going out of the way for. It's extremely casual, low key and almost always has a HUGE line so make sure you allot extra time in case (yeah, it's gonna happen) of a wait. Quirky atmosphere and efficient staff.

This was my first stop in New Orleans after I landed. The wait time was long and it was only 9am! I ordered a sunrise and patiently waited for a table. This was my first time day drinking so that drink had me feeling wonderful. I can say that it's best to go here when you're not super hungry because... More

What a find! I'd come across Ruby Slipper online for best brunch/breakfast restaurants in NO before my trip there and decided to try it. My first meal on my trip was here for Sunday brunch, and my last meal on my trip was breakfast there on a weekday. What a delicious experience both times! The menu is incredible! Many unique... Absolutely some of the best food/flavoring I have ever had. My wife and I just happened upon this place and noticed the line. After talking to a few people in the line, we decided to submit our name. It took about 20 minutes. But, when we got in, it was like the people in line told us. Excellent food at... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
