Cure is definitely off the beaten path of Nola's French Quarter or Frenchmen Street - but very much worth the trip. Located on a retail heavy street in a neighborhood setting. The bartender was extremely helpful when selecting a drink, and the locals quickly engaged me in conversation. A really nice neighborhood experience, and a chance to get away from... More

This bar has been refreshing from Matt to Dirk all D's(seems as as though all the bartenders name start with D). Good vibe and music. Some say it's a NY feel; nah ! These guys hold conversation and offer that southern hospitality flair! Always Professional. Always meeting your needs. Not touristy. What more can you ask for? Dress nice, get... More

I had read about Cure from some of my cocktail magazines, so we went for pre-dinner cocktails with high expectations. It did not disappoint. All the cocktails I ordered (and sampled from my friends) were terrific. I tried some amazing modern variations on classic cocktails like the Old Fashioned, Boulvardier, Corpse Reviver # 2 and a Margarita that tasted fresh... More

If you are into the craft cocktail scene, then Cure is a must visit while in NOLA. It is a bit off the beaten path, but worth the cab ride from the FQ. David or bartender / mixologist was amazing. He asked what we liked, and didn't like, found what kind of flavor profiles we like in our cocktails. He... More

Cure lives up to its national hype as one of the country's best bars. Drinks are expertly made, especially the Sazerac. Bartenders are knowledgeable and friendly. Happy hour is 5-7, with discounted drinks and snacks. Recently a food menu has been added which enhances the whole Cure experience.

My girlfriend and I decided to check this bar out for small bites and drinks. We had the clam chowder, Caesar salad, vegetable plate and ravioli. All were amazing. The bar manager/mixologist Ryan gave us such great hospitality. We got there at 7pm and stayed until 12:30 because we had such a blast. Definently one of the best cocktail bars... More

If you’re based in or near the French Quarter, this place is off the beaten path. A trolley ride west takes you to Uptown, then a good ten-minute hike north through a residential area reveals Cure. It’s a beautiful, low-key bar with good food and excellent drinks. The bartenders are knowledgeable and friendly but laid back. This is definitely worth... More

The entrance was cool! It was a the side of a building with a small sign. The atmosphere is upscale and modern. I had a special happy hour punch that was average considering this was a high end craft cocktail bar, but I did like the ambiance. I will give this place another shot next year for Tales of Cocktail.

Met Matt Lo-Fink at Bellocq. Matt is a talented bartender who seems to get the art of his craft well beyond being able to make a good drink. He gave us the recommendation for Cure where he is an apprentice bartender. This place is a bit of an uber ride outside the French Quarter and maybe even past what is... More

Staying in Uptown / Carrollton

Neighbourhood Profile
Uptown / Carrollton
Very much their own self sufficient unit within the greater metro area, Uptown and Carrollton tone down the urban edge with a friendly attitude and collegiate feel. Home to Tulane and Loyola Universities, all the students living in the area ensure that Uptown and Carrollton stay youthful, cosmopolitan and vibrantly fun. Two of the liveliest thoroughfares for nightlife and socializing (and yes of course more of the city’s outstandingly good food and live music) are Oak Street and Maple Street. For a truly wild time, the expansive acreage of Audubon Park, with its zoo, golf course, and actual patches of swampy wetlands, means peace and quiet are never too far away.
