Had a gift card from two years hence and decided it was high time to use it. Hubby had the Arugula salad and the scallops - both declared scrumptious. I had the mussels with collard greens and grit cake which was probably the most interesting presentation of mussels I'd seen in a long time (and yummy), and the duck confit... More

This is a gem of a restaurant. It may be far from the downtown but is well worth the details. Every mouthful delights the palette, The menu has lots a variety and makes choosing hard indeed. Try the boudin balls. Their own in-house smoked meat make this dish a must. The wine list is ample and reasonable. A good choice... More

Saw this on Yelp and decided to try it since it was close to our lodging. So glad we did. We did not have reservations and they were busy and it was cold so we did not want to eat outside. They managed to squeeze us in on a Saturday night. Very small cozy house where table are close, but... More

This was the best lunch we had in New Orleans. The menu is a creative offering of some classic New Orleans staples with a twist (ie po boy). We liked the ambiance of the restaurant which had just recently moved. It also exposes you to another and interesting part of New Orleans. Everyone really enjoyed their meal and they even... More

i have eaten here a few times. It is in a tiny little house so it's difficult to get a table. My service has always been good, but when I call to make reservations I usually feel they don't care if I dine there or not. They are always full. I prefer their appetizers to their main plates. The atmosphere... More

Well worth the streetcar ride (fun in itself), Boucherie was on our short list of places to try in NOLA. No disappointment at all! For lunch we had boudin balls with aioli, pulled pork po boy with purple cabbage cole slaw, pineapple carnitas & smoked pork loin sandwich with icicle pickles, whole grain mustard and fresh mozzarella on house made... The entrees were quite good and would command a rating of 5. However, there were a few little things that knocked it down. This restaurant is situated in a house (but will soon move around the corner to a different building). We were seated at a table that bordered a hall way and a wall that was about the same... More

We had the boucherie plate (whole pig misc: cracklins, pigs ears) and the St. Louis style ribs. Definitely make rezzies bc it's small.

I had dinner here last week with a colleague who was also in town for work. He had been here before and was raving about it. I found out why... We arrived on a Thursday evening around 8pm and were able to sit fairly quickly at an outdoor table on the front porch (it's a converted house). A cool evening,... More

Don't let the distant location detour you from going here. We met some fellow vacationers at our hotel (we are from TX, they were Swedish) and came here for dinner with them. We took a breathtaking trip on the St Charles street car nearly to its end and had an amazing dinner, which all together was a great night with... More

Staying in Uptown / Carrollton

Neighbourhood Profile
Uptown / Carrollton
Very much their own self sufficient unit within the greater metro area, Uptown and Carrollton tone down the urban edge with a friendly attitude and collegiate feel. Home to Tulane and Loyola Universities, all the students living in the area ensure that Uptown and Carrollton stay youthful, cosmopolitan and vibrantly fun. Two of the liveliest thoroughfares for nightlife and socializing (and yes of course more of the city’s outstandingly good food and live music) are Oak Street and Maple Street. For a truly wild time, the expansive acreage of Audubon Park, with its zoo, golf course, and actual patches of swampy wetlands, means peace and quiet are never too far away.
