Vegan food in New Orleans is a fairly rare beast. Luckily, The Green Goddess holds court in a little alley/pedestrian street off Beinville just east of Royal. This place is not cheap, it is not fast and if you are forced to sit inside because of rain, you will suffocate (even in the "spring" months) so I would suggest you... More

Was in Nola with a vegan coworker and found this place. Was so good that we went there twice during our trip! There's not a lot of seating so we had to wait a bit the second time when we had a large group, but the food was so good it made up for it. Would highly recommend, especially as... More

We went here twice. Once for lunch. Loved our waiter. He suggested many options to us.They were all wond erful. He suggested we come back for dinner. We arrived a bit early. I felt that we kindaimpositioned the wait staff. Our waiter for dinner was not the warmest person. We were the only ones there and our food took a... More

I'm a vegetarian and was steered here by coworkers who enjoyed it. The food was superb, the service good, the environment nearly squalid!......you're not paying for the atmosphere.

The Green Goddess made our check it out list because one of us eats vegan and that limits you in the French Quarter. We had the Meatloaf Po Boy (I'm told 4.5 stars on that one), and the vegan version of the Beet Burrata Kale salad. The salad was missing the barberries, and could have used more beets, so it... Went there because it came recommended by the locals - since we are vegetarians. The ambience was terrific - there was outdoor seating - there were lights strung across and we were next to a fragrant lemon plant which had flowers blooming. Now to the main reason for our visit there - dinner! Our drinks - we ordered what was... More

It's location in a side alley makes it a pretty hassle free experience to get in and get a table once you've located it. It's fast and we experienced good service. Too bad the food is just okay. Did not get to see the underlying hype. The presentation was top notch though so perhaps we just got unlucky. I had... More

Went 2 weeks ago and everything was still great. Acadian country breakfast is always really good and makes you feel like your thorax will explode when you are done. Those sweet potato biscuits with pepper jelly and cane syrup is all I need, but my fat body wants the entire Acadian Country Breakfast!

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
