We came for the music but could not resist ordering the brownie. It was absolutely delicious. The house band was amazing. The wait staff was courteous and professional. We shall return.

While the Roosevelt Hotel says that check in time is 3:00, often rooms are not available and you have to wait. The Fountain Lounge would be a good place to have a cup of coffee, a drink, and some food, but, they don't serve food until 4:00PM. So, you have to leave of the "grandest" hotels in New Orleans to... Family of four. 3 course Christmas day special menu. Service was spotty and a bit slow. Entree arrived while we were still eating salad course. Waiter standing next to mom while she's trying to push her half eaten plate out of the way. Lamb was under seasoned. Grouper was a bit dry. Salads were very good. Dessert was a decent... More

The place is lovely in the hotel lobby. Good Bar Food, we order 2 appetizers: Shrimp with Risotto and a Burger with egg. For me the burger was better than the Risotto. Risotto was to plain was missing something but the Cajun Shrimp were good. Service was excellent, served by Demoine.

Wow! Just wow! From venison to blackened turkey our four course Thanksgiving dinner was truly spectacular! The cocktails were perfect. We had such a good meal and I can't remember eating so much. The special holiday menu had so much to choose from. The service was stellar adding to the joy of our family meal on this blessed occasion. Kudos... More

After a really satisfying meal at Luke on St. Charles Avenue my wife and I took a stroll over to the Roosevelt Hotel for a night cap before retiring to our hotel room. The Fountain Lounge was quite and relaxing compared to the other two bars at the Roosevelt so it suited us just fine. The drinks were a bit... More

We chose this restaurant based on a website recommendation from the Saenger Theater, and it's proximity to the theater. We had pretty high hopes considering it's in a Waldorf Astoria hotel. When we arrived at the door, there was no host. We had reservations so we didn't want to just seat ourselves. We stood there for several minutes before a... More

This bar serves the same cocktails as the famous Sazerac Bar right next door in the lobby of the Roosevelt Hotel. Drinks are well-crafted and service is efficient. There's live music on weekend nights, but YMMV when it comes to whether it's up your alley. Breakfast/meals are also served here. I recommend their avocado toast.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
