Domenica hasn’t fared well in the 3 years since my last visit. The food was tired versions of favorites like the squid ink pasta with crab (blob of pasta with too much butter) and clam pizza with few clams. Most disappointing, the waiters weren’t skilled...professionals. There was a lot of “do you like the food?”More

Husband & I have dinner here when staying in adjoining hotel. It has always been hit or miss. Sometimes food is great & service is mediocre. Sometimes food is mediocre & service is poor. This time, food was poor & service was beyond poor... Notice,...I’ve not said service was good - ever. Domenica’s has been short staffed (according to wait staff) since before covid. But it’s New Orleans. Laissez les bon temps rouler. This time, however, our server took our order & disappeared. It took forever to get food & it was not warm when it finally got to table. Risotto this time was terribly undercooked & underseasoned. It took at least 10 min. to get requested salt from someone other than our server. Pizza was ice cold, burnt, and sadly lacking in topping. The few that were there were clumped in about four areas. We all just had to laugh at the way it was cut - with multiple tiny pieces and one piece approximately 40% of pizza. Complimentary cookies consisted of 4 cookies and 1-2 spoonfuls of crumbs for table of four. Insulting. Done. And fairly certain they could care less.More

We had a very disappointing meal at Dominica. The Bucatini al’Amatricia was ruined by overcooked guanciali and pancetta. The large amount of overcrisp meat gave the undercooked bucatini a very salty result. In addition, the pasta was chopped into 5 inch strips. Husband’s pizza was...burnt and tasteless. Yes, I know about crispy crust and al dente pasta, but these were not up to Italian standards.More

Fantastic restaurant housed in a casual modern space. The wait staff was friendly and informative. Wine list is interesting and reasonably priced. Started with the meatballs and the roasted cauliflower. Both were delicious. Selected a salad, rabbit tagliatelle, hanger steak and Calabrese pizza to complete...the meal. All the dishes were fantastic but the tagliatelle was too salty. Definitely recommend this restaurant.More

I was happy to find Domenica, after an evening of strikeouts with other restaurants that were unexpectedly closed. Domenica is your standard upscale, modern Italian restaurant with a refined menu and classy decor. I was particularly amused by the Flintstones-esque pieces of meat hanging in...the glass refrigerators. I was also happy to see some more uncommon menu items, such as the squid ink pasta. I ordered the meatballs as an appetizer and the amatriciana as my main course. The meatballs were a bit spicy, which I am not a fan of, but the polenta was very tasty. The amatriciana was quite good. I forwent dessert because they couldn't make the affogato decaf. My complaint about my dining experience was the service. I sat at the bar and the bartender seemed distinctly annoyed and was pretty curt.More

Nice to know that one of our favorite restaurants in New Orleans is doing just fine. The place was hopping, the beer and wine were flowing and the pizzas are just as good as they were pre-pandemic. New Orleans lagniappe is alive and well at...Domenica. Our beers were on the house ‘just because it’s nice to have y’all back’ — how cool is that? Still one of our favorite places and I hope to be back very soon. Keep up the good work, you guys.More

We were staying on The Roosevelt Hotel, so this was a convenient location. The wait staff were friendly, attentive, and willing to accommodate reasonable requests. Our meals were tasty and they represented a wide range of preferences. Even a 9-year old was happy.

Terrible food, terrible service. Our waiter brought us burned bread. When I asked for some that wasn't burned he said "it's like that this time of night." I pointed to another table, and I said "their bread isn't burned. " He said fine I'll get...you some free bread." Insinuating the quality of the bread was irrelevant because it was complimentary. He was non existent the rest of the service. I had to ask for a manager at the hostess station. Typical service for a place that caters to tourists and doesn't care about return service. Little do they know I frequent this area, and I won't be returning. Nor will I recommend this restaurant to my friends. I will go out of my way to tell them to avoid this place. The manager apologized and comped one meal, but it ruined our night and was a meal we could have eaten at MANY other good restaurants in New Orleans! There are so many good places to eat in this city, I warn you don't waste your time here!More

Could not ask for better food, service and atmosphere. The Independent from the hotel; don't park in the hotel lot and expect validation.

Came for happy hour. They have 1/2 off beer, wine and pizza. Pizza was delicious! Be prepared to wait a bit, took about 45 min for our pizza to come out and we came about 3:15pm?

Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other
