Stopped here for lunch and we weren't disappointed. We had grilled Gulf shrimp po-boys with an order of its famous onion rings, which were amazing.

We always pick up shrimp poboys to go on our way back home to Alabama. Have never eaten in the actual Resturant but can vouch for the shrimp po boys. Everyone is always friendly and our order is always ready.

As we were walking down Magazine St. enjoying the history and architect we found a place that did not require reservations. It was a converted house with a small patio. My wife and I had tried for the first time a Muffaletta hot sandwich. We both loved this new sandwich along with an Abita local beer. We left very full... More

Came in a bit early on a Monday afternoon for lunch without any wait. Each of us were able to find something quickly on the menu. Flavors were on POINT!! Our waitress was terrific!!

After much reading we picked Mahony's over other Po Boy places that are on our list and others that he have enjoyed in the past. This so far is our No 1! West at the bar and the bartender was Kelly. She was truly outstanding. Of course we had the Large Fried Shrimp Po Boy and got the Fried Onion... More

Had lunch here. It was awesome!! Had the fried oysters and shrimp po boy , it was delicious!! Bread was fresh crisp on the outside and soft in center. Oysters and shrimp were fried precfctly!! Had the fried green tomatoes, they were also very good. The onion rings were also delicious. They were shoestring cut and enough for 2 .... More

No shortage of great poboy shops in New Orleans, but this is one of my favorites. The sandwiches are big and the flavors are on point. It hasn't disappointed yet.

Beautiful day to eat a lot-boy on Mahony's patio! Catfish po-boy was delish 🍴!! My BFF had the alligator sausage po-boy and said it was "excellent ~ very lean AND tasty"! Bread was perfect ~ crunchy on the outside and light on the inside. GREAT neighborhood location away from the "fray".

Very cute restaurant in a charming old house. We sat at the bar and ordered two different po boys - root beer ham and short rib. They were both good, but the short rib was better! We also ordered a basket of onion rings, which were the most delicious onion rings we've ever had. Very nice service from the bartender.

Great Po-Boy shop located in the garden district. Safe location and delicious food. If you are visiting New Orleans you need a shrimp Po-Boy before you leave. Eat outside if it's not too hot. If u want to appear local get a Barq's Root Beer with your shrimp Po-Boy. I also found the staff to be very helpful. Locals and... More

Staying in Garden District

Neighbourhood Profile
Garden District
Head to the Garden District for the full-on New Orleans experience replete with quaintly clanking streetcars, proudly grandiose antebellum mansions, picture perfect avenues lined with live oaks loaded down with Spanish moss, and a wealth of beautiful churches and many more architectural marvels. Even a brief excursion here makes plain why it’s called the Garden District. So, when you visit be sure to give yourself ample time for admiration at a languidly slow pace befitting such gentile strand of riverside living and to allow you to maximize each opportunity to stop and smell the roses – and whichever other blooms you might come across. While taking it all in, you’d do well to dine at one of the city’s most beloved destinations for regional cuisine. Gourmands from far and wide (and right round the corner) swear the age-old Commander’s Palace is the best restaurant in town – and have been doing so since it opened back in 1880.
