We started with a cup of seafood gumbo that was hot and full of flavor. We loved the hot French Bread served throughout dinner. My wife had the filet on a bone and I had the cowboy ribeye on a bone. The steaks where served on very hot plates-The Ruth Chris way-and the were both superb! I have to say... More

We had to wait extra long to be seated, but once in place, ordering and dining went very well. Service was good. The special Thanksgiving Dinner menu was not inexpensive, but very generous, including an extra meal each to take home. That's right! We got 2 meals each for the menu price - one was to take home for later.... More

Average food. Been to many steakhouses across the US and food is just about par for an "upscale restaurant". We made a reservation for 9pm on a Saturday night. After being seated late at 9:20, there was happy birthday decorations on our table for some reason. Although, service at the table was superb, one of our steaks came out overcooked... More

Here's the thing. It's all about first impressions, right? We made a late reservation (9PM) as that was the only thing available. Imagine our relief that we made such a reservation when we got there because all these people were all standing around waiting for tables. We got there early and checked in. They said our table was still getting... More

Made a reservation for 9 pm. Did not get seated till 920 am. Allowed walk ins to be seated before their reservations. Table was set up for a birthday party that had nothing to do with our reservation. One of our steaks had to get remade as it was over cooked.

After raving over the restaurant in Hawaii this was a must do for us and the experience was even better! Great decor, food and service. It was a holiday weekend so a special was available which was fantastic! A 3 course meal where I chose a light steak salad, filet mignon with lyonnaise potatoes and an apple pie cheesecake with... In New Orleans for a convention and decided to eat here. Not sure what to say but amazing food and amazing service. Try the creme brulee it is nothing short of fantastic. Not a cheap place to eat but who cares with the quality of the service and food. Wow

This is the original Ruth's Chris steak house. What a wonderful experience. The steak was out of this world. One of the best steaks I have ever eaten; cooked to perfection. Service and staff were excellent. A wonderful dining experience.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
