Good cupcakes in a swanky part of New Orleans - friendly service and nice layout. A little pricey for the cakes, but you get a generous size. Couldnt tell if the tables were wait staffed or not, so crowded!

Stumbled upon this place looking for coffee and bagels during our trip to NO. The food was amazing and the staff was awesome! They helped us navigate the menu, and made sure we knew where to find silverware, water, etc. The outdoor seating faces east so if you're there early enough, you can sit in the sun! It is super... Here's how it works: You stand in line to order your food. While you stand in line, someone will take down your name and party size and start getting a table ready for you. After you order, your table will probably become available before the food comes out. Even if the line looks long, it moves very fast. Everything at... More

Everywhere good we checked in NOLA was a 45 minute wait at least so after deciding on Chinese, getting there and it was closed, I looked for something close and this came up. It was not very busy when we walked in and the lady at the counter was very patient and polite as we ordered. The food came out... More

Another neighborhood cafe. Very busy! You order at the counter and by the time your food is ready, a table will be ready. Get your own coffee and place setting. Nothing fancy but the food is excellent, atmosphere is charming and prices reasonable. Indoor as well as outdoor seating available. Handicapped would need to eat outside as doorway is narrow... Delicious breakfast. If you have the choice to get a biscuit or toast, opt in for the fresh biscuit (it's a bakery, after all!). It comes with delicious homemade jam. Self serve coffee, tea, water, silverware, etc. Open seating on weekdays, but put your name in on weekends with the seating hostess wandering around to guarantee efficient service.

This place is a hidden gem!! The breakfast is wonderful. I had the crab meat omelette, which did not disappoint!! My husband had there amazing mushroom gravy and biscuits. The gravy was so creamy and had a great flavor from the mushrooms!! Don't forget to get a donut!! The Boston creamed fill was the bomb!!

We had the best breakfast experience here. It is located about 5 blocks out of the French Quarter and small - about 10 inside tables. You order at the counter and the food is then delivered to your table. My wife had catfish, eggs, cheese grits, and a biscuit while I had shrimp n grits, 2 eggs, cheese grits, and... More

We walked it from Canal St. to here and it's not a long distance for us, since we walk a lot back home but the sun and heat get to you. I had the grilled cheese and it was nothing spectacular but it was tasty. The staff and owner were very nice and made sure that everybody was taken care... More

We met my Niece for Lunch in this charming Neighborhood Cafe. I had the Fish Sandwich which was average. I did feel it was a bit overpriced $40 for Lunch.

Staying in Faubourg Marigny & Bywater

Neighbourhood Profile
Faubourg Marigny & Bywater
Nestled between the French Quarter and the Ninth Ward, the Faubourg Marigny & Bywater environs are largely residential. Of course, folks around here love to go out and have a good time as much as they do anywhere in NOLA. And if out-of-towners want to join in the festivities, well then so much the better! Home to some of the most revered live music venues in New Orleans, an eclectic gaggle of gourmand dining destinations, and a come-as-you-are vibe that’s as infectious as it is alluring, this is real deal New Orleans oozing with southern hospitality and the promise of a most epic night out. For endless opportunities to boogie, to admire row upon row of lovingly restored homes, and to escape the fray of the more touristic parts of town (but still live it up in grand style) head to Faubourg Marigny & Bywater.
