Best beignets in NOLA! We came here for breakfast three days in a row. Very popular and busy joint. Be prepared to wait for a table when they are very busy.

Café Du Monde is a must do when you visit New Orleans. They only serve beignets, coffee and hot chocolate, but they do them very well. The beignets are exceptional. Bakeries in other cities claim to sell beignets, but you will never have one like those at Café Du Monde. With that being said, it is a total tourist trap.... More

The coffee is delicious but expensive. Beignets were amazing and come in sets of 3. Open 24/7. Lines move quickly. Cafe beignet was on par to Cafe Du Monde for the beignets but I liked the coffee better at Cafe Du Monde.

Yes this place is touristy, but that is part of the fun. No matter where you sit you will see or hear something entertaining. We love to go, get a drink and some beignets, and watch the people on the street. If coffee is not your thing, try the hot chocolate. It is amazing. The prices are great as well.

A New Orleans tradition, beignets and cafe au lait. It is a must do for any trip to New Orleans, usually busy so be prepared to wait.

Every trip to NOLA has to include at least one trip to the Cafe Du Monde. Do not be embarrassed to be covered in powdered sugar when you leave cause that means you enjoyed it! Beignets and Cafe au Lai are wonderful! But take cash cause that's all they take!

This is an experience if you go to the original shop. You will get great and fun service, excellent chicory coffee ($2.73) and a set of 3 beignets smothered in powdered sugar. We sat outside at night, and enjoyed the XMAS lights of Jackson Square!

Because of the number of items that have to be prepared they quality leaves a little to be desired. The lattes are only warm not hot but the number of people that accommodate is astounding!

The beignets were great. We went on a rainy day so it wasn't too busy. If you want souvenirs there is an official gift shop across the street.

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
