Beignets taste like little dinner cakes in shape of a large donut covered with powdered sugar. So my husband thought this is best place on earth because he loves all things sweet. Too sweet for me. The line was wrapped around building, but it moves very quick to get seated and served. Their coffee with chicory was okay, but too... More

Who comes to New Orleans without a stop here???? The beignets are to die for.... cannot comment on the coffee (with chicory) but everyone else loved it. Always busy from sunup to sundown.

While its a must don't expect too much in regard to service or variety. The menu consists coffee and beignets. Unless you're really hungry for greasy doughnuts and sugar order only 1 serving per couple. Fun but a brief stop Note: they sell neat little lapel pins for $2.00 at the cashier if you want a memento of your visit.

Had great coffee and a few beignets. Street musicians playing and a good crowd of people. Great place to relax and enjoy the sights and sounds.

What can you say, it's coffee and beniets, great location and musicians right outside. Don't stand in line, just look for a free table and sit.

I've been to this place a couple of times in the past. It used to be charming and delicious. This visit, I was less than impressed. The service was not very good. We waited for an hour for a plate of beignets and two coffees.

The beignets are delicious! The coffee is excellent as is the wait staff. However, the experience is reduced to a ticket punch. There are long wait lines for overly crowded tables. The space will be impossible to navigate for individuals with mobility issues. The wait staff is very friendly and professional but it is clear this is not a romantic... More

The line can be daunting but you better queue up. People watch. Mule watch. The carriages are all pulled by mules in this climate. Look at that interesting door. I think I can smell coffee and look I can almost see...and there you are. You are seated, ordering, and enjoying the best beignets and cocoa you've ever had.

Excellent coffee. If it is busy do not skip, just get a coffee and some beignets to go. It's great to sit along the river and watch the world pass by.

We made a quick stop to try the beignets. Great crowd, yummy beignets, and a unique experience. Gets really busy but we had no troubles grabbing a table at 4PM on a Thursday.

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
