Stores are giving out samples of pralines all or New Orleans, but this is the only place we went in and spent too much on too many pounds of pralines to bring home for us and for our friends! My husband and I are going to be very sad when they're out! They're so creamy, and we also bought a... More

Loved this store, the staff, the smell, watching them make the candies, the shelves full of all sorts and the samples offered! You can buy boxes of very good sizes and you choose the contents yourself.

Do yourself a huge favor and stop in here and get a praline (or two, or three, or dozens) while rambling around New Orleans. I highly recommend the original creamy, the peanut butter, or the chocolate varieties. Delicious.....

will bring into this candy shop. The pralines are out of this world. We also like their saltwater taffy, not the chewy just right. We always bring some of each home with us.

The service was so friendly and professional, Maria and Carmel (yes, and she works in a candy shop) stand out as the two driving forces on today's shift. The store was quite crowded, yet everyone remained calm and efficient and all the guests were promptly attended to. So many shops bring pralines in that are made in some factory somewhere,... More

Don't walk, run to southern candymakers. The staff is friendly. The pralines and turtles(tortues) are amazing. I have ordered from their website as well and my candy arrives fresh and tasty. If you are ordering from the website, review their shipping time table and place your order accordingly. They pack your orders fresh Monday thru Thursday with no shipping over... More

This place has the very best candy in the whole worlds! No exaggeration at all. The traditional pralines were almost as good as the ones my grandmother made 40 years ago.

One of the two best praline locations in the city. Buttery, creamy goodness called a praline. If you get them slightly warm, that sweet, nutty, flavor turns into melt in your mouth goodness. This particular candy is surely some type of sin. Honestly try a sample you will walk away with a dozen, they are sooooo good.

I love this place...I make a stop every time I come to New Orleans. I will pass up any candy shop to get to this one. The pralines are always fresh and tasty, but don't overlook the other treats in there. I haven't tried everything, but I usually try something new with each visit and i'm never disappointed. This is a candy shop that you can smell as you come down the street. They were on the sidewalk offering samples when we walked by. We ended up buying pralines and peanut brittle. They are not a discount store, but good, fresh, sweet candy is always an extravagant treat that needs no justification.

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
