Loved the polka music, the beer, and the food. Our waitress was fantastic and took great care of our group all night. We went on a thursday night and the place was dead but we did make a reservation in advance. Had the bavarian combo...More

I've eaten at say, 8 to 10 different German restaurants and have some preferred seasoning combinations. To my surprise the food here didn't have any of those preferred seasoning combinations but I really liked everything I had. Many of the combinations were new ones to...More

One of the things we have found in Wisconsin is the lack of authentic German food. Most places offering German food frankly have no idea about authenticity. The Essen Haus menu certainly reflected authentic German dishes, but that is where it ended. We ordered two...More

A colleague took me to this restaurant for dinner one evening. He is of German descent and recommended the food. it was very good. We enjoyed cheese curds for an appetizer and Rouladen for the main course. The service was as good as the food.

Our apologies for the delay. We're disappointed to hear that some of our German selections were not what you were expecting, though we're glad the bratwurst and wienerschnitzel were to your liking. We're also happy to hear that the boot did not disappoint. Prost!
