While there are a number of ok to good places to eat in Cortez this stands out as very good and a bit different from the rest. Nice enough to be a special place but not over the top so you can go often. We found out about it on trip advisor so glad we did. We were a group... More

The Farm Bistro is now open for dinner. The menu is diverse and solidly built around seasonal and Southwestern favorites. The meal I had was great--well prepared and fresh ingredients, well plated. I think the best table in the house is at the back near the kitchen next to the gas space heater. For a warm winter meal out with... More

Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a nice review! I must point out, however, that we've been open for dinner since February of this year! More

We stopped for lunch traveling through town. Just our style. Nice ppl, clean, fresh, simply prepared food in a carefully styled dining room. I had carrot/coconut soup & a beautiful fresh salad in the middle of December. All food I saw looked delicious. Nice crowd. Wish this was in my town so I could dine there regularly. They cater and... Not easy to use all/most locally harvested foods and pull a decent restaurant together. This place seems like it's still evolving, but is on the right track. Fairly priced. Good food.

So after a few nights of bar food, we opted for glass of wine a quiet. The simple, perfect pasta dish and homemade chicken pot pie soothed our road weary tummies.

Delicious, innovative, healthy, affordable. What a great surprise in Cortez. Moroccan meatballs in terrific sauce with crisp kale. Superior chicken pot pie. Homemade rolls. Flourless chocolate torte. Upscale farm look inside.

Fresh. local ingredients are used to make some of the tastiest meals you can have. Quality food served in a friendly, warm environment. The staff are happy and helpful. We really enjoyed this place and would return without hesitation.

We came to the Farm Bistro based on the reviews. It lives up to its billing of a farm to tables kind of place with locally sourced food and a trendy décor. It feels relaxed and homey. The service is -- slow. They were short staffed. Our waitress is working her butt off but she had to double as the... More

Open for dinner during the week, and we dined here for the three nights we were in Cortez. Excellent, helpful, friendly service! Varied menu, with non-dairy and vegetarian options, but if you like meat, the beef is divine! Burgers and steaks! The Farm salad, with walnuts, etc. perfection! Yummy wine and beer, too! Great atmosphere! Highly recommend!

It's great to see quality, healthy food gaining a foothold in an old-fashioned greasy-spoon town like Cortez. The atmosphere is lovely, food was wonderful (especially the lamb meatballs and zucchini fritters), but on the Friday night we were there, service was very friendly but glacially slow. This may have been because staff was under unusual pressure because city tap water... More
