We were told that normally you need to make reservations to go here, but because of the slow down due to the Corona virus, most places in Amed were slow. Understatement. We went to Galanga around 5pm and there was not a single other customer...there. We sat in one of the little huts in the garden. The staff provided a mosquito coil to help keep the bugs way. There was also a fan in the corner you could turn on if you got too hot, plus the restaurant provides free wi-fi. The service was good. The food was excellent. The presentation of the food was very nice, too, with small bowls made out of banana leaves and tooth picks. Soursop was in season so we had some soursop ice cream for dessert. It was outstanding. As some people have aid, there were some dogs and cats running through the gardens, but they all had collars on so seemed to live there. It wasn't like stray street dogs were passing through. They, along with the wandering chickens, provided a little entertainment while waiting for our meal. Prices were pretty reasonable. Two of us ate two meals, dessert, and two drinks for the equivalent of about $17 USD.More

We came here on a whim. We didnt make reservations, but if you do make sure that you ask for a Bale Bale, one of those cute little houses. When we came they were free, but they seemed to be going only to guests they...already knew. The food was really good. A bit classier then your normal warung. The service was also really good. the staff is very attentive and very friendly. We specially loved the sambal that they served with the food. Absolutely tasty. Oh yes, if you don't like cats or you have a cat allergy, don't come here.More

We have had great meals in Ubud, but this was the most memorable of them. A small, unpretentious restaurant. Simple decir, all in the open. Both the service, and *especially* the food are outstanding. We stopped for breakfast (phenomenonal "pain perdu") and we wanted to...be back for lunch. The local fish and samba were fantastic great flavors. Nothing fancy or flashy.More

Having stayed in Amed for a week now, my friend and I’ve been trying different places for dinner Galanga became our favorite. It’s on the pricier side compared to other places we’ve been to, but it’s absolutely worth it Both Asian salad with chicken and...tuna steak were amazing and the ingredients were fresh This is the first place in Bali (and we’ve stayed in Ubud for two weeks prior coming to Amed), where we could find really nice desserts, thanks to their French chef, who’s amazing at sweets :) I would definitely want to come back here for another dinner before I leave BaliMore

Searched trip advisor for a special place to go out for dinner. Wanted something more sophisticated than the usual warang in Amed. This place is nicely designed and charming and efforts are being made to create interesting meals but I think it is a bit...over blown and truly the flies were terrible.More

Thanks, Rob! The flies always attack us once in a year because of the rainy season, we are happy that you love the atmosphere at Galanga, hope to see you again for another dinner!

Each time i visit Amed i come back. They mostly use local ingredients and keep the food natural with a special taste. Friendly staff, lot's of choices. Tuna tartar salad is very tasty, as well as samosa, fish Galanga or spicy fish and their home...made ice creams. The place is always packed so make sure to get there in time or reserve.More

This place was founded by a Balinese Fisherman and French Cook, so it's a great fusion concept with a creative take on dishes that you wont find anywhere else in the world, literally. The seafood is locally caught, the poultry is free range, the oils,...herbs and spices are sourced locally whenever possible. Every dish is well presented and delicious, with the aesthetic decor and ambience of the restaurant to match. When you walk in they ask if you want a garden seat or regular table. Sit in the garden bungalow, take in the view, and enjoy a special meal that's not Indonesian, not western, but a special fusion that only exists at Galanga. Its worth it.More

The Galanga restaurant is a nice place, nicely located. You’ll be seated in sa small bamboo-hut in a garden. It makes an atmosphere. The food we ordered was good, surely adapted to our European taste. We had a curry with coconut rice and a lokal...fish. The fish was great but the curry lacked a taste. The main dishes are served with small soup and salad, but overall the portions are not too big. So if you hungry, you might need to order some additionally. It is recommendable if you’re not looking for a local food, because there’s not too much to choose.More

We are staying in Amed for two weeks and we’re walking around yesterday when we passed Galanga and stopped to have some lunch. We were greeted by a very friendly lady who gave us a great table in the garden. The lunch was so good,...I had an Asian salad with chicken and my friend ordered a wrap with chicken and salad. We also ordered two different juices that were delicious. It was so good that we immediately booked to go back in the evening and we weren’t disappointed, it was amazing. We had various starters an the pasta with fresh tuna and basil. The cocktails are also very good. We will definitely be returning.More

They are about 2km from Coral View villas, along the main road. Not sure if they deliver, though.
