We stayed at Marari Dreamz for 3 nights in February - but even if we hadn't stayed here, we would have eaten here if we had known about it! Allwyn and Jency have a wonderful homestay and really make you feel like family friends. We...enjoyed breakfast and dinner each day, and each meal was outstanding! Fresh fish, Keralan specialities, homemade breads, pickles, smoothies, YUM! As with many homestays, there is no menu - you get what you're given, so to speak (although they will gladly cater for vegetarians) - but there is so much choice and the food is so tasty and plentiful you surely won't go hungry! highly recommended.More
Jency cooks delicious meals at a very reasonable price and she even invites guests to watch her in the kitchen.
A little off the main road behind a steel door (if not open) you'll find the Marari Dreamz. Actually already closed for the upcoming end of the season, the very kind owner couple made a great dinner especially for us since we were so disappointed...with the food in our hotel. As usual with homestays, there is no choice - you get one set dinner and that's it. But there is really nothing wrong with that, everything was delicious and gave us a much better impression of Kerala food than our hotel. Spicy as it should be. Seating was outside, the husband served us in a very polite manner - and all this at an unbeatable price. If you stay in one of the beach hotels in Marari, you owe yourself one evening at the Marari Dreamz.More
Best food in Kerala. Lots of fresh fish and seafood. Great variety of vegetarian dishes too. Quiet and relaxing atmosphere.i
Read my review of the Homestay... Great Food, the best hosts :-D Offers authentic Keralan cuisine, homecooked by the very talented Jency. Don't bother with a fancy hotel, stay here too and have a guarunteed table!
Had dinner here twice. The food is delicious! Best we've had during our stay in Kerala. The owner Allwyn is a lovely guy, his wife is the amazing chef. Worth a visit!
Jensy's food is wonderful. So many dishes in one meal which must have taken a lot of time to prepare, all so tasty and full of flavour. you can spend an afternoon in the kitchen with her to learn her cooking skills.
We stayed at Marari Dreamz because we read that the food was good. Jency is an unbelievable cook! Everything is freshly prepared and she cooks it all herself. Highly recommended!
10 km away from the hustle-bustle of the main Alleppey town, this home-stay is located at a calm village called Mararikulam. The main attraction of this home-stay is the natural feel of this property. Has trees all around, and the cottages complete with hammocks make...you feel right in the middle of nature. The rooms are air conditioned, and has all the modern amenities needed, and even nicely decorated, almost to the point you could call it boutique! The bath/toilet place is another nice touch, has no roof, and is a great nice experience under the open sky (yet with all the privacy you need). However, the real experience at this property were the cordial and wonderful hospitality of the owner Mr Allwyn and the awesome, lipsmacking authentic kerala style food cooked by his wife Jency! They had bikes for us to use and go around the village, and beach mats to use as well. I would say it is worth a stay @ Marari DreamzMore
