Situated at the outskirts of Alappuzha and directly on the beach this café invites all kinds of people. There are no side walls, so there is a constant breeze. You can get all kinds of food and drinks and if you value oldies in music, you have come to the right place.

My partner and I had the most lovely evening at the Cafe Catamaran. We paddled in the sea, then ambled our way to a low table with a view, and enjoyed the brilliant hospitality of a lovely waiter, great music, and a brilliant sunset.
While I can't remember the name of the waiter, he was a lovely man with an obviously warm heart, who made us so very welcome and feeling comfortable and happy.
The food was delicious (I had shakshuka) and the hot honey and ginger drink was perfect (I had 3 over the course of the evening!) We then read books and relaxed, leaving the cafe happier and more at peace than when we arrived!

We’ve been travelling India for about 2 weeks, and it’s the first cafe of its kind we’ve encountered. The ambiance is very laid back, techno/deep house music in the background, people stay here for hours enjoying the food and drinks and mostly the view of the beach. We came here for dinner and breakfast and both offered a wide variety of food and beverage choices. I would definitely come back if I could!

Had a terrible dine in experience here. First of all about the cleanliness. The sand on the benches and cushions can be justified because it right next to the beach. But that doesn't justify the sticky fly covered tables and food on the floor covered with ants. (Which I cleaned on my own because even after repeatedly asking them to do so, they didn't)
Secondly the service is absolutely pathetic. Screwed up our orders, flung ketchup sachets at us and made us wait 45 mins to say that a simple drink like lime soda was not available on their menu.
And to top it all, The dishes are overpriced for the quality and quantity they serve!

We came few times for dinner and once for breakfast.
Red smoothie is the best but also had the yellow too. No alcohol.
Italian salad, tuna sandwiches were the best and french fries was okay.
Breakfast was delicious...the granola/fruits bowl was huge and the mushroom/cheese/spinach was to die for! No proper coffee only instant.
Great view, staff are cool. It's relaxing. Music can be a bit loud sometimes and it's cash only.

Service was very slow to the point one meal came out and was finished and we decided to leave as the other meal just never arrived. Not good service at all. No apologies. They were very busy am sure good would be good looked nice at other tables pity it did not turn up!

The restaurant is very nicely decorated and exudes beach flair. Unfortunately, the food did not convince us. We had the garlic lemon shrimp pasta and the vegetable pizza. Both were served with plenty of olives, which were not on the menu (and we hate olives), and the pasta came with lots of extra vegetables, which we would have preferred to have done without. Otherwise, the food was average, but we have eaten much better on our trip to India.

Service was very slow and our waiter was inattentive. It took quite a while for them to get us our food. Even then, they messed up with the order and gave wrong items, including adding sugar to my lemon beverage in spite of asking them specifically not to add sugar. French fries were totally soggy and other food items tasted stale.

We were on a family trip and stayed at a nearby resort in the alleppey beach area. The owners suggested this place and we visited for lunch. They have options of veg/non-veg/seafood/soup/pizzas/breads/curries/rice/fresh juices and many starters.
we tried kerala fish curry, prawn masala, chicken noodles, egg fried rice and fresh juices. Kerala fish curry we had to repeat as it was very yummy.

Food was average and perhaps the fish based dish i ordered was overcooked which made the fish chewy. The prawns were good. The location is beautiful which is right next to the sea where people can sit and eat and relax. This cafe doesn't serve alcohol. Evenings are nice with sea breeze and fast food. Should visit the place to enjoy the ambience.

The restaurant serves amazing Pizza and Pasta with soft beverages. We could survive because of this cafe - as it serves good food. We were tired of eating South Indian food during our travel.
We had dinner both days at Cafe Catamaran, the soft drinks Lemonana was very refreshing.

This is a fabulous cafe with all the seating upstairs in an open air setting overlooking the beach.
The staff are really jolly and remembered us from last year. Don't be surprised if you visit more than once for them to remember your previous order.
The food and drink are great and best of all they play some fantastic music.

Nice cafe with a selection of local and international dishes, cold (non alcoholic) and hot drinks. The cafe is open air so smoking is permitted whether people are eating or not, but that reflects more on the selfishness of the smokers than the cafe. It has an excellent sea view, ideal for watching and waiting for the dolphins, we saw them on our last morning.

We came here four times in two days. The second day I had the spinach and mushroom breakfast omelette for the second time just to make sure I hadn’t been wrong when I called it the best omelette id ever had the first time round. I hadn’t. This is the best omelette I’ve ever had. Ever.
And after being in India a month, it was also a pleasure to have great French fries, crispy and well seasoned.
The staff were lovely, and did I mention the omlette?…

This place is probably the first place I'd visit if I come back to Alleppey beach.
It's atmosphere is relaxing with two sections which of one is a "sit of the floor" -sofa section facing the sea. Music is spacy and very cool. I wish I had their playlist.
The menu is simple and so was the food. I ordered a couple of lassies and a butter chicken. Not bad but nothing extraordinary.
This is a place you go to for the atmosphere and I don't think you'd be disappointed.
