We ate dinner here to try to and support local restaurants. The food was overpriced but pretty good. I wouldn't recommend eating dinner here if you are a picky eater. There are few dinner options. I highly recommend the huckleberry pie as dessert (or as the main dish). I do applaud the restaurant for complying with Covid-19 regulations. The tables are spread apart and servers and guests are required to wear masks. Overall, pricey but good food.

When in Montana... There are not many places in the country that serve bison so I would recommend trying some on you next visit to Montana.
There are not a lot of dining options in West Glacier. We tried several of them during our 3 day stay and decided that we liked this restaurant the best. Food was good and the service was friendly. Prices were not expensive when compared to the prices at other restaurants. You are in a resort area in rural Montana, of course prices will be higher than where you live.
And the pies are utterly delicious. Make sure you try some!

We stayed at Glacier Guides Lodge, and this restaurant was just down the hill from us. We ended up eating there 3 times during our stay, because we enjoyed the food and servers, and options in the park were still take out only. The sandwich selection is much larger at lunch, and The Grizzly (only offered at lunch) was very good and more than I could eat. I also had the Northwest Chicken sandwich, which I thought was really good. I like my fries to be thinner and crispier than what they serve, so on my other two meals I substituted the house salad, which is a nice option to have. We enjoyed every meal there, and never had room to try the many selections of pie they offer.

The place was clean and staff was friendly. I ordered what was described as chicken pot pie served over mashed potatoes. It looked delicious and generous for the $19 price tag but I discovered that under the artistically placed puff pastry topper was a bowl of mashed potatoes with “pot pie filling” like gravy over the top. More bread on the bottom. Dadgum expensive bowl of mashed potatoes and gravy. It tasted fine but nothing to gush about. My husband ordered the fish and chips. He got three pieces of what he called Gordon’s Fish Sticks straight from the freezer and large soggy French fries. When we got to the car afterward he ate a granola bar “to get that greasy taste out of my mouth.” Would recommend you go to the Wandering Gringo instead. It was awesome!!!

Close to the road and the railroad!!! Very basic accommodations. The staff were friendly but felt like the place was really a price gouger! The menu said you could sub potatoes for fruit, but was charged $2 surcharge for doing it! Their fuel was about 15 cents higher than anywhere else. Something that you would pay 50/60 cents for at a Costco buy was $2.50. Just over the top--left a bad feeling.

Ate here about 25 years ago
Last week was served by the grandson (his picture is on the wall) and the granddaughter of the original owners.
They made some upgrades to the place about 4 years ago.
The food is Great and the prices are more reasonable vs other locales
Will be back !

The food was good - There are a lot of options and you can eat somewhat healthy or eat large (like I did). We enjoyed the Hiker's poles, the quesadillas, and the meatloaf. All were good. Prices are a bit higher than desired, but that's what you get when you're traveling to a national park and they were not absurd, by any stretch. We actually at there for breakfast as well and that was really good too.

We were in Glacier Sept. 11- 16 and most restaurants had shut down for the season (some closed early due to COVID-19 ). Our dining options were very limited, thank God for this place. Contrary to some other reviews, we ate there 3 times and didn’t order anything fried. Their prices are in line with everything else in the area, they have a decent selection of local draft beer, a creative menu and great homemade pies. Everything we had was excellent.

Many restaurants were closed during our Glacier visit, so choices near our lodging accommodations were limited. We wound up eating at the Glacier Highland twice and weren't disappointed either time. The service was fast and the staff was extremely friendly and efficient. I had the Classic BLT on my first visit and the Grizzly (roast beef, garlic aioli, grilled onions and horseradish cheddar cheese on grilled sourdough) on the second visit. Both sandwiches were huge and fantastic! You get a choice of soup of the day, chips, potato or green salad. I'm a soup lover so had it both times and they were a highlight of my meals. Both soups were delicious. My husband had burgers both days. One was the Huckleberry Hound (huckleberry BBQ sauce, bacon, grilled onions, lettuce, tomato). The other was a classic burger, the Highland. He said both were outstanding, along with the soup he had one day and the potato salad the next time. They seem to be known for their homemade pies, but we were so full we couldn't squeeze some in after our meals. On the second visit we couldn't resist and ordered a slice each of huckleberry and Glacier chocolate pie to go. The huckleberry was excellent, but the Glacier chocolate was not what I expected. It was very sweet and had bits of candy bar and maybe graham crackers in it. I was expecting a chocolate pudding type pie. That was the only disappointment.....everything else was excellent. Don't miss eating here if you are in the West Glacier area.

The food was OK, but there seemed to be a standard protocol for Covid-19. The host was adamant about guests wearing a mask. Waitress Dana wore her mask covering her mouth but not her nose. Cooks did not wear Masks AT ALL! One cook running the fryer would taste-test each order of French fries with his unprotected fingers. No gloves, no washing of his hands in between orders. I witnessed this 3 different times!

We had dinner multiple times at Glacier Highland because we enjoyed it that much. A menu of variety and quality comfort food staples that make for a great dinner after a day of hiking. It's convenient location (just west of West Glacier village) on route 2 makes it very easy and fast to get to. The wait staff had knowledge of how the dishes were prepared and were friendly and attentive. Combine all of that with a tall glass of Cold Smoke Scotch Ale and you have yourself a fine dinner. Don't forget to try the pies!

We just visited Glacier last week and realized upon arrival, that almost every restaurant inside the park was already closed for the season. Luckily for us, the Glacier Highland Restaurant was still open and we ended up eating breakfast and dinner there 3 days in a row. For such a small place, I was pleasantly surprised to experience a quality, and extremely tasty menu! Highly recommend the meatloaf- probably the best I've ever had and I can't say enough about Cheri's Pie selection!! Yum is the only word to describe the Huckleberry Pie! Great food, fantastic service. Even if we had arrived prior to the seasonal closures, we still would have selected to eat at Glacier Highland multiple nights! Kudos to the Chef and the Staff for making our experience great!

When you walk in and see “The Pies” calling out your name you know your in the right place. This place was great, small little cafe with very friendly staff. We enjoyed a dine in meal twice here for breakfast and dinner. Located just outside the park road with a nice little grocery gift shop on the side. We need more places like this every where. Glacier National Park has some fantastic sites which are enjoyed much better when you have a full belly, of delicious pie and other good stuff at reasonable prices.

Solid bistro fare at a reasonable price given the relative lack of other nearby competition. We ate there three times during our stay in West Glacier. One night, we had dinner ordering the entrees, another dinner was burgers and sandwiches, and the last meal was breakfast. All were good, with the entrees being the strongest. The pies are heavily pushed, but are reheated in a microwave and so not of the crispiest texture. Reservations not necessary. We had only a short wait for our second dinner and otherwise were seated right away. Service is friendly and efficient.

This is another great place to eat in West Glacier after a day in the park. Get here early because they get busy quickly. We had to wait about 25 minutes for a table and they sat us at the bar which was great because you could sit a look at all the great desserts across from you while you waited for your food. The young man, Max who was seating people and taking orders on the phone was doing a great job and was the kind of employee that every boss wishes they had, hard working and although very hectic he kept a smile on his face and took care of all the customers, even the mad ones who didn’t like the idea of waiting but that’s part of going out for dinner! Our waitress, Anna was sweet and took good care of us also. The food was great and the service was better but the best was the huckleberry pie with ice cream and then we took home a candy bar pie slice to eat later and it was delicious! Highly recommend this place to eat just might have to wait a little to get a seat but we’ll worth the wait.
