This place had great food and awesome prices. It is rather small but the great service and meal made up for that. When you arrive you choose your own seat. They will bring a menu to your table. I had the Chopped BBQ Platter with a choice of two sides. My sides were Potato Salad and Baked Beans they were... More

SC BBQ snob review. The pulled/minced pork here is pretty good. Not as smokey as SC bbq but moist. The sauce served at the table/not on the meat is a little weird but ok. The creamy style cole slaw is very good. Do NOT get the ribs. These are very dry and no amount of sauce will save them. The... More

I read about Allman's BBQ in Southern Living magazine while visiting family in Richmond, VA. It was worth the side trip off of I-95 for wonderful smoked pit bbq. I had the pulled pork sandwich with slaw and hush puppies as sides. Delicious! I definitely want to stop again.

Visited here while driving from Richmond back to the DC area. Wasn't sure what to expect, but this place was a pleasant surprise. Staff was super nice and the old-fashioned ambience is neat. The food was absolutely delicious, really worth the trip, and the cost was low. I would actively seek this place out again, what a nice surprise we... More

I had heard that Allman's had great BBQ but we were disappointed with both the BBQ and the sides. The ribs and the pulled pork were dry and did not have much flavor. The potato salad and the coleslaw were overloaded with mayonnaise. The greens were very plain and had no flavor. For a s much as I was looking... More

I stopped in with a friend I got a full rack of ribs and he got a barbecue sandwich. The ribs looked very appetizing but when I put the barbecue sauce on it left me wanting. There was no spice to it like hot or zesty to be honest with you it was a step above ketchup! I mean I... More

We came here to end out a brewery trip to Richmond on our way back north, and were not disappointed. Open for 50+ years, it's clearly an institution - and hand crafts their milk shakes. I opted for the BBQ deluxe sandwich, with pulled pork that was melt-in-your-mouth and came with two sides - the mac 'n cheese and hush... More

Looking for a casual place to eat after driving up I-95 from FL, we chose Allman's. The fist thing I want to stress is especially if you have something other than a compact car, park in the nearby Giant Supermarket lot and walk to the restaurant. Parking is very minimal at the restaurant. The Allman building is a classic, surrounded... More
