We visited twice. First just for cocktails in the evening and good service with unique options. We also visited for a graduation party (six at the table) with special diet needs that we contacted the chef a couple of days prior. The experience was wonderful. The service attentive but not pressured and the food was wonderful. Well beyond our expectations.

This very pleasant restaurant serves good, well cooked food. An easy menu, good choices and pleasant service. Delicious salads and nicely cooked hamburgers in a welcome, neighbourly environment. Open fires make this a nice place to spend an evening - and not too expensive!

Was here for an event, a Fireside Chat, which was all about local craft beers. They hold these events monthly with a different topic each time. The restaurant is nice and they have free parking out back, a plus for the area! Enjoyed learning about and tasting beer with the bar manager. Has small bites from the kitchen that went... More

The fireplace in Washington Square, Brookline is a roomy well decorated restaurants on two levels. An entry level with bar and fireplace, and an upper level with an open kitchen. The food is excellent. Service a little slow. Soups are excellent, as are the unique sandwiches and entrees. Whether a tuna melt, burger, or salmon entree, you can't go wrong.

This is a nice place for good service and food for a date, celebration or to step it up a level. You can come casual or business casual. Not formal so you can still relax and have a good time. Burger is delicious and so are the scallops. We shared a charcuterie board among 4 people and it was plenty.... More

I love the warm atmosphere, Great local resaurant, and the food although expensive is innovative and they have the best burgers ever. Unfortunately we never have good luck with a good waiter. I don't know what the training probllem is, but they are lethargic, bored, and inefficient. Every time We go, it's the same issue, with different waters. They don't... More

I have been here twice for brunch and enjoyed myself immensely. The atmosphere is cozy, especially with the fire cracking. Mimosas are delicious and their signature potato bread is amazing. Our server was attentive, quiet, and respectful. I had a vegetable sauté with poached eggs that was flavorful, though the roasted squash needed another ten minutes. I could also do... More

I was coming from a meeting in Boston and meeting my wife for a late dinner who was driving in from the suburbs. This was a good spot to meet in Brookline. We had reservations and arrived about 9 PM. We had a very nice table for two directly in front of the fireplace. Although we live in the area... More

As is customary for me, when I have a negative comment I directly contact the person or organization so as not to do undo harm. I also consider the possibility that there were extenuating circumstances beyond anyone's control. I sent restaurant a private message via Yelp on January 20. They did not have the courtesy to respond. Tells me they... More
