Delicious sushi albeit at Boston's elevated prices. Tempura dishes stood out from others being perfectly and lightly fried. Ambience is nice although just a bit 'corny' - certainly doesn't detract from the meal! Will definitely visit again.

Beautiful place with authentic and very fresh sushi and carefully prepared dishes. Pricey, but very good.

I've been pleased with Fugakyu the few times I've eaten there. Twice for lunch and once for dinner. The fish was fresh although I only patronize restaurants that serve fish Mondays through Thursdays unless they also buy fresh fish on Fridays and/or Saturdays. The yellowtail and hamachi sashimi were especially delicious.

Restaurant is organized into private booths each with a thin door. Sushi was very fresh and beautifully presented. Attentive waitstaff and Sapporo beer on tap. Excellent all around.

The waiters are not very good, but the food is fresh. For lunch the bento box is a good deal. The fish is fresh, but they are not very innovative. Been around a long time, and nothing changes, but it's convenient

Best sushi ever I had in the USA! This is the second time and I can confirm that is the best place in that area.

I really love fugakyu for the makimono lunch special. The food is delicious. However, for dinner it's really expensive. They do have a great atmosphere with a mix of private seating areas where the doors shut, and open tables.

Many of the dishes on the menu are never heard off in Japan. This place is not a pure Japanese restaurant. One time when I went there they did not have a Japanese sushi chef (in Japanese ITA-SAN) and scallop wrapped in bacon is laughable!

Fugakyu has a reputation of being the best, but overpriced sushi in town. It turns out neither is true. Despite a rainy mid-week day, the place is pretty busy. I ordered the "nigiri combo". This comes with miso soup -- which was delivered first (unusually for a Japanese place) and without a bowl cover. The miso was perfunctory but potable.... More
