I was looking for a casual dining spot for my wife & me in the vicinity of our Savannah South Historic District B&B and was intrigued by the Betty Bombers diner tucked away beyond the front bar space in the American Legion Hall on Bull...Street. It has classic American diner interior furnishings with WWII decorations & memorabilia on multiple walls and hanging from the ceiling. We are both glad we found the place & visited, because the burgers & fries were very good while the large chocolate milkshake we shared was excellent. The young ladies behind the order counter were every helpful in explaining menu options, and they provided friendly food delivery service to our booth. Food prep time was a little slow (I knew from social media posts that the owner has struggled with staffing like every other business in the last couple of years), but that gave us time to gawk at the decorative nostalgic features around the dining space. We left Betty Bombers full & satisfied, and we would definitely return if we were ever in the Savannah area again. We recommend that other visitors & Savannah area residents seek it out as well, to enjoy a very good meal while getting a healthy dose of National Pride.More

Betty Bombers is a WW2 themed restaurant inside an American Legion in Savannah. It's actually a fascinating location as it gave birth to the Mighty 8th Airforce which helped liberate Fortress Europe in WW2. Inside Betty Bombers, it's a very traditional burger joint with cozy...booths and model bombers hanging from the roof. The menu will appeal to those seeking classic burgers but with more contemporary flavor profiles and dietary options. We really enjoyed the space, the very full servings, and a traditional Fanta float. It also offered a chance to cool down from the oppressively hot Savannah humidity.More

Being in an American Legion Hall with vintage style decor was very cool. Our table had 2 different types of burgers that were both as delicious as they sounded: The Beachhead and The Blackout. Sadly, they were sold out of onion rings, but the fresh...cut fries were yummy. The chocolate shakes were solid! We will return. And had chocolate chip cookies as a take-home treat later. Total yum! A side note, our upholstered booth seat was really uncomfortable - caved in. So, check your seat before choosing.More

Employees are super kind & helpful. Food is delicious. The 1940s music is a welcome change. Like stepping back in time but with super fresh & tasty food.

Savannah is bursting with hidden treasures and when we were looking for a substantial family lunch while visiting Forsyth Park, the lovely server at Collins Quarter (there was a long line and we had a baby out in the hot sun) recommended we try Betty...Bombers. Secreted away inside the American Legion building, the place celebrates the Rosie Riveter women workers who toiled over the Liberator and B-17 Flying Fortress bombers that soared over Europe between 1943 and 45. Fittingly, the site is also where the Eighth Airforce was founded. The old school burger and soda fountain captures mid-50s Americana perfectly. The music is pure 1940s nostalgia and there are model war planes hanging from fishing twine above. The food is mainly burgers and sandwiches, all with fun WW2-inspired names like a jalapeño heavy Fire In The Hole. A root beer float does wonders in bringing down the heat. If you’re craving a filling burger and a hit of history, Betty’s is our Savannah recommendationMore

A hidden gem I would never have found on my own! My family had been here before & said it was a must stop for lunch during our visit. I couldn't agree more. Really a burger place, which is heavy for me for lunch. But...I indulged and am glad I did. Great specialty burgers, fountain pop and REAL french fries ~ those were especially yummy. I believe, if memory is correct this is located in the American Legion (or some sort of military building). Lovally owned business which I love to support. Mom takes your order, Dad cooks it and if you're lucky you might even see the adorable kids hanging around.More

For being a small place, it was still accessible for a wheelchair! Food was fresh and hot. Staff is very friendly. Liked the memorabilia on the wall. Learned some things about the role woman played in the war. I didnt give it 5 stars because...it was dirty. It could have just been under staffed and they werent able to get to the tables and floors before we got there. Dont let that stop you from the experience.More

This is a fun, funky place... real down to earth. Other than the food, everything about this place is "no frills." But the food IS really good! Try them.

This is a sweet little place with amazing food and history! We had a burger, and it was the best burger we have had in a very long time. They play 20-30s music with artifacts from world war 2. It is very reasonable priced. It...is placed inside of the American Legion which was a little confusing to find, but we are so glad that we did!More

WOW! This was probably one of the best burgers that I have had and I am a burger snob! It was also probably one of the best meals I had while in Savannah. Definitely worth it!

A great place to eat! Every time we are in town we always head to Forsyth Park and make sure get lunch at Betty Bombers. A great place for burgers and fries. The staff is always friendly and the food is excellent. My husband got...Blackout Burger and couldn’t stop talking about. He said it’s the best blackened burger he’s ever had. I got the Classic Bomber with Swiss cheese also very very good. Our daughter got the chicken fingers and loved them too. Really cool atmosphere and music. We love this place, it’s always a must see when we go. Great place to eat lunch and then relax at Forsyth Park.More

Good food if a little pricey. Recommend the chicken sub! Milkshakes were just okay, nothing special for the price. Everyone in my party enjoyed their food. Cool atmosphere. Good service.
