The atmosphere is wonderful, in the Baltimore Museum of Art. Outdoor diners look out over the museum's incredible sculpture garden. But go for the food. The seafood is outstanding, with Chef John Shields's unique approach to using local ingredients and creating local classics. The vegetarian...More

The place is bright and cheerful, and the service is fast and efficient. The menu is very creative and everything (we were a party of four) was nicely prepared and well presented. Best of all, prices are quite reasonable for the quality. I wouldn’t necessarily...More

Thanks for your kind words. We hope you come back to see us, even if you're not going to the Museum. A summer night dining in the gardens is exquisite!

We had Easter brunch at Gertrude's and enjoyed everything. There were the regular menu selections and some special drinks and menu items. I enjoyed the ginger and grapefruit mimosa special. I chose the crab omelette with sherried mushrooms with mornay; just perfect. My husband had...More

Food is dependable but not particularly exciting. Service is solid. The most persuasive reason for coming to Gertrude's is the surroundings. The restaurant's interior is well-well accomplished. Especially in nicer weather, the added ability to look out on the sculpture garden is a true treat.

Gertrude's, the only choice for a snack or dining if you want to visit the BMA and chose to stay at the Museum to eat. The dining area feels formal as does the service. The cost of dining is in line with that feel. Brunch...More

This restaurant is a hidden treasure inside the Baltimore Art Museum. The food is fresh and local and focuses on seafood. Service is lovely and attentive. The restaurant is quiet enough to discuss business, and I have never felt rushed. Reservations can be made on...More

We had dinner at Gertrude's on Saturday evening prior to heading to the Meyerhoff for a show. The service was a bit slow and our waitress kept disappearing. The food however was out standing. We had a banquette and it was very comfortable. The servers...More

Went there for Sunday brunch and it was okay. Just okay. Highly overpriced. Got a crabcake that was very good with a side salad that was eh. But it wasn't worth 25$. The trout plate was very large but it was mostly tasteless. The service...More

Thanks for your review. We're so glad you liked the crab cake. Yes, it is expensive but as you can imagine, the cost of crab is pretty outrageous these days and we do pride ourselves on our crabcakes truly being full of tasty crab. Will...More

Went here for Saturday brunch and wasn't disappointed. Great service and wonderful food, with some of the best cornbread I have ever had, and their apple butter reminded me of my grandmother's. Perfectly executed Bloody Mary and a very interesting, savory egg dish with two...More
