The burgers are terrific! Pay extra for bacon. It's worth it. Soo worth it. It's a little divey, but I like that. This is Baltimore and you've chosen a pub. That's clearly what you want. It's what I want.

My colleague and I came here after a professional development training. She got a few drinks at the bar and we shared some appetizers. The place was dark. Smelled of beer. The bathrooms were gross. The bartender was nice and my colleague liked her drink (I had soda; as with most bars, it wasn't very carbonated). I wouldn't go back... More
If you have been working super hard and need a break, this is a nice spot to grab a beer and decompress. It can get a bit loud on the weekends (actually, starting Thursday evening). And, you'll probably run into people from campus there, but they're usually having a good time so...
I absolutely love this place! I visit several times a month! The Happy Hour specials are great and the food good. The bartenders are very friendly and remember what you drink. The best times we've had were sitting outside during the summer...drinking and people watching!
CVP used to really be the hot spot in Charles Village. It still is if you are a JHU student on a limited budget, who wants to get trashed on cheap beer. The food is just now average. They used to have great crab dip, burgers and chicken wings. Everything is now over-priced, over-cooked and under-delivered. The wait staff seems... More
Our daughter took us there one evening. Yes, it is noisy and some of the other patrons seemed a little on the seedy side. The food and service is good. We enjoyed it. It is an old school pub/bar with large portions.
CVP is a perennial Charles Village favorite, especially for junior/senior undergraduates and graduate students at Johns Hopkins Homewood campus. No matter when I come through Baltimore, my trip is not complete with a pint of Killian's Irish Red and a well-done burger at this eternal pub.
Not my favorite neighborhood bar. It's usually too noisy to enjoy conversation and the food ain't so great even when you got a few too many drinks in ya.
Decent pub with an expected grease-feast menu but surprisingly above-average execution.
